prologue.

IT WAS TWO days after valentina moved into her new apartment.

the girls that already lived there (tara, quinn, and sam) were all very welcoming. she told them about herself, and after the first day of valentina living there, tara and sam told her about their past.

honestly, valentina was a little scared at first. when she was in middle school, she tried watching the first stab movie, but the second it said those five words, "based on a true story." she decided to never think about it again.

but she really needed friends, and the three girls seemed harmless, so she decided to stay.

it was now her first day of college, and she was nervous as hell.

the university seemed way bigger than it did when she toured it just a few months earlier.

thankfully, she had most of her classes with tara and quinn. they promised to stick together and try to find their classes.

it was very hard the first few days. getting used to the schedules, the classes were way different than highschool, and everything was just so different.

it took about a week for them to actually get settled in.

tara introduced valentina and quinn to her friends chad and mindy. they're twins and also were involved in the accident the year before.

mindy and valentina had two of their classes together and became good friends. they had a lot in common and both had many compliments to give each other.

when tara first told valentina about chad, she honestly thought he was one of those annoying boys obsessed with girls and sports. but, she could tell tara liked him, so she kept it to herself.

valentina decided to give chad a chance. they had a whole conversation together and surprisingly he didn't mention sports or girls once.

valentina then realized she had absolutely nothing to be worried about. she had friends that were actually nice, and no reason to be scared.

or so she thought.
