Over the radio, Hotch had given instructions to the three of them not to engage in a chase with the runaway. Instead, they were to stealthily follow the car and wait for backup before confronting him

"Well it sure is nice of him to take us for a little drive into the countryside"

"I feel like a taxi driver here alone in the front, why'd you both have to sit in the back? Anyway, grab the bulletproofs from the boot and put them on. I can't imagine it'll be pretty the next time we're near this guy"

As both Reid and Ivie went to reach into the boot of the car to grab the vests their hands lightly grazed each other. Swiftly retracting her hand, still very wary of his germaphobia, she sheepishly turned to look out the window. A red colour was slowly appearing on the apple of her cheeks, it was uncertain whether it was from embarrassment or the warm feeling of proximity.

Once he had put on his vest, Reid turned to look at Ivie, just to see if she was struggling to put on her vest. He was slightly confused when he realised that she hadn't retrieved a vest, instead she was fidgeting and looking out the window. Reaching back once more he grabbed a vest and subtly tapped her on the shoulder with it, turning around startled Ivie graciously took it, quietly mumbling apologies and thank yous as she fought the stiff piece of equipment onto her frame

"Dave we have sights on the unsub, he's stopped in the corner of a field near you, we'll all approach the vehicle on foot so let us know when you're ready"

"Understood"

Slowly leaving the safety of the car, Rossi signalled over the radio that they were ready to start moving in. Walking stealthily in a triangular formation, weapons facing ahead, the oldest agent in front they calmly and quickly approached the vehicle. From the corner of her eye, Ivie noticed that Reid's gun wasn't standard issue like hers or Rossi's but seemingly a revolver. Making yet another note of something to ask him at a better time, seeing the other three come into view on the opposite side of the vehicle. Ivie turned her attention to the driver, tapping lightly on the passenger window with the barrel of her gun

"You're on private property, therefore we have probable cause to search your vehicle"

"Get out of the car"

On the driver's side Hotch has his gun aimed at the suspected unsub. Knowing that she could now inspect the car since the unsub had moved his attention away from her, she had followed the line of the unsub's arm across to the passenger's seat. To see that he was clutching the thigh of a dismembered leg

"Well, we've got a dismembered leg in the front seat"

JJ nodded from around the back of the car

"Let's pop the trunk"

Hands held above his head, the suspect slowly opened the door and removed himself from the vehicle. He was weary of making a singular wrong move and getting a bullet to the head, as shown by his slow, steady movements
