He was shocked to see her on his doorstep at fifteen past eleven in the evening. He's even more shocked to see her with a grin and holding out a plate of festive cookies.
"I made Christmas cookies," she announced excitedly.
He hesitated- after all, she wasn't exactly known for her baking skills.
"Wow."
"Try them. Here."
He picked the one shaped like a Christmas tree. He noted that her smile got wider as he took his first bite.
"How was it?"
He gave a thumbs up.
Neither said a word on the way to the dentist the following day.
