(IX): Seeking the Truth

[Narrator POV]

Door 71... Y/N opened a drawer and a spider jumped out and landed on their face. They quickly jumped back before slapping their own face... Hard. It would've been embarrassing if it weren't for the smooshed spider corpse in their hand. Y/N looked (any emotion here) while gently picking it up off their hand and setting it down on the table.

Second: HOLY CRAP THEY KILLED A SPIDER!

Ten: (sarcastically) Oh damn... I didn't know you were so brutal Y/N

Y/N: sorry... reflexes i guess.. rest in peace to you... (Thinks for a name) ...Timothy. Rest in peace Timothy.
(They proceed to notice more eyes appear on the wall) Hey, we got Seek up ahead.

Second appeared confused, but nevertheless the trio proceed forward, Door 72 was a long grand corridor, without any eyes.

Second: This is a b-bit too c-calm dontcha think?

Ten: Never met Seek? Trust me, he's a a really nice guy-to us, though. To Y/N and the other travellers though...

Ten paused, gaining a more serious tone.

Ten: ...I've seen what he has done to Travellers and i will not get those images out of my head.

He loses the serious tone.

Ten: ...but i'm sure he'll be calmer now.. speaking of!

Ten and Y/N turned backwards, still walking in the same direction as before. Second turned around, concerned at Ten's words, but then confused as they all see a black inky figure rise from the floorboards, staring at the trio with his singular eye.

Ten: Heyy! That's your number one fan!

Y/N: You're goddamn right about that!

Second: (calling out) Uhh.. Hello over there mister... Uh, was it Seek? Hello!

Seek finished climbing out of his puddle like a preteen climbing out of those goddamn cube foam pits and stood there menacingly. However, he didn't give chase. Instead, he snaped his fingers, causing a window besides the group to shatter and a large inky hand appeared, grabbing a closet and placed it at the next door, effectively trapping the trio.

Second: Okay, uhh...  Oh no...

Seek approached the trio, at a walking pace, he didn't appear to show any emotion, he looked like he was observing what the trio would do, then he cleared his throat and spoke loud.

Seek: How did you do it... Traveller?

Y/N: What, get this far? Pure Skill and charisma, the name's Y/N by the way, start getting used to it.

Y/N was clearly annoyed, but kept their cool.

Seek: Not that, fool. How did you befriend... TWO? (He wasn't suprised, he was just pretending cause he's a c*nt) YOU BEFRIENDED TWO SCREECHES?

Ten: We have names, you know. And plus, aren't our kind mistreated the most? It would make sense that eventually someone would care enough... Right?

Seek looked at Ten.

Seek: Right... But the thing is, i've seen screeches befriend travellers before, but it was more of a "Hey I recognise this one, i'll just say Hi and buzz off". You two seem to cling to.. 'Y/N' ..like a piece of loose tape! What is going on?

Seek put heavy emphasis on Y/N's name, he approached closer, Y/N and Ten looked unsure but Second was terrified

Second: Y-you aren't gonna kill us, right? Please... Don't...
