Everest's POV

My moon starts tonight, I have a few hours before sunset. I better prepare. I don't want anyone to get hurt tonight. My phone beeps, it's Lex. I open it and see he texted me saying "hey! Wanna hangout tonight? We could watch a movie and stuff. I know you're turning tonight but maybe I could help out? 🙂😗" I guess it would help to have someone there. Lex's house also has really good blinds to help block out the moonlight. I throw on an old baggy sweatshirt and some stained sweatpants, they'll be ripped apart once the sun sets so it doesn't matter how I look. I start my walk to Lex's place. I enjoy the scenery before I turn feral. Whenever I turn I can never remember what happened. The sun is already setting, I better hurry while I can. I finally arrived. I'm always taken aback by Lex's house. It's an entire mansion! And it fits his aesthetic perfectly, old wood floor boards, cobwebs everywhere, and dimly lit candles to give the place some light. I get to the door and knock. His butler, Winston, opens the door. Lex lives with his parents and butler, though his parents are never home. They're always traveling. "Lex is in his bedroom." Winston tells me as I walk in. "Ah, uh... thanks" I say with a hesitant smile. Winston always put me off a bit. Tall, pale, brooding, rarely shows any emotion. He's very.... Stoic, if that's the right word. I speed walk up the steep stairway to Lex's room. The door creaks as I open it. "Hey!"he says with a bright smile once he sees me.
"You ready for this?"
"Yep."
"Don't worry about it I'm here, so you'll be fine."
If only he new that I wasn't worried about me, but I was worried about him. Our local town's crime rate is pretty high, mostly because of me. People tend to.... Get hurt... when I turn..
