The Words We Said

I wouldn't imagine saying this six hours ago but I actually love our new apartment. It's on the 10th floor and it has a lot more secret rooms and drawers. We also even have two secret emergency exits. Nothing else gives me more comfort than all the rooms being huge and the whole apartment being dark colored. For almost my whole childhood I've lived in one small cell. Any small room reminds me of that time and that tiny cell so I don't like them.

"Come on, it's time." Yelena gestures to me to follow her and we go into one of our secret rooms which I call 'the hack room' since we have all of our illegal technology there, where we indeed do lots of hacking.

I take out the flash drive and push it into one of the computers. Thousands of files start to pop out on the screen and I start to look for the one that could be anything about Hydra's future missions and targets. After a few minutes I find one under the name of 'mission 696' and press on it. "This one is new."

Yelena looks at the large screen in front of her that's copying and showing everything from the computer.

"Let's see what that's about."

The file opens only with new smaller files:
Natasha Romanoff
Tony Stark
Steven Rogers
Clint Barton
The Winter Soldier
Wanda Maximoff

"What the hell are they planning to do?" I look through all the files quietly with Yelena.

"They want to kill everyone else except for Bucky and Wanda." Yelena looks at me unsure how to react. "Sucks for them I guess."

"I think they want to eliminate everyone who could be on their way in the near future."

"You don't think the soldier and the witch are on their way?" I think for a while while scrolling through other files.

"I think Pierce wants them back."

"What about us?"

"Let's see." I scroll to our file named 'the sisters' and click it open. All our data pops out but it's nothing we haven't seen before except for one new file. I open it and find pictures of us in the airport and in New York.

"So they knew we were here all the time?"

"They didn't know exactly where." I scroll more and click on another file about us named 'next'. There is nothing else except for a sentence 'let them be'.

"Well what's that supposed to mean?" I look through the whole file again but find nothing else new.

"I don't know, that's weird. They wouldn't just let us go."

For the next hour we search through all the files but find nothing special. There is something about the new experiments Hydra is planning to do and some new recruits. It's really odd that they are not hunting us down.

I've had a father-daughter relationship with Pierce for a long time but I don't think that would have been an excuse for him not to kill us. They don't even know if we have betrayed them. Hydra would never let someone get away with escaping this easily so they have got to be planning something.

"So what do we do now?" I ask Yelena as I take out the flash drive and turn off the computer.

"We stay lowkey. For now."

"Well we still gotta earn money somehow."

"We have enough money for the next eight months, Ira, so we stay lowkey." I put the flash drive in a safe box and sigh. On the other hand I've never had a vacation before, but on the other hand I've got used to working every day. It has become a routine in my life which I don't mind to be honest. And even though a vacation sounds nice I just can't sit there for eight months doing nothing.
