Kirishima's POV
"Oh come on wake up," I said pacing in front of Nakayama's bed. "I thought you were just exhausted, it turns out you had a lot more injuries than you thought. Exhaustion can take a big toll on you, you're starting to scare me," I explained hoping she could hear me.

Then her eyes started moving so I stopped pacing. Then she opened them, she groaned as she slowly opened her eyes.

"Kirishima..." she mumbled.

I walked to the side of her bed and hovered over her. "Hey, I'm here, how do you feel?" I asked.

"Everything hurts," she said rubbing her eyes.

She tried to sit up but she winced in pain.

"Don't try to get up, you need to rest," I said trying to ease her back down on the bed.

Then Recovery Girl came into the room.

"Is she awake?" She asked.

"Yes, she's awake," I said.

Nakayama started to grip my hands a little like she was in pain.

Recovery Girl came up to the bed.

"Are you in any pain dear?" She asked.

"Yes, everything hurts," Nakayama said with tears forming in her eyes.

"On a scale of one to ten, how much pain are you in," Recovery Girl asked.

"Maybe a nine," she said.

I was shocked at her answer, she was so strong when she fought that I didn't understand how she could be in so much pain.

Did I hurt her when I tried to protect her? Did something still hit her even when I covered her? Did any of the villains hurt her without any of us knowing it?

I was so confused and I think Recovery Girl was just as confused as I was.

"Okay let me put you on some pain medication, you may just be sore but you seem to be in more pain than I thought you would be in," she said.

She gave her the pain meds and eventually her tears did stop. I sat next to her the whole time, I didn't want to leave her in pain like that. I also wanted to be her friend, she was very strong and brave. I admire her a lot, but I wonder how she could be in so much pain after that fight. She didn't have any visible injuries.

"I'm sorry you have to see me like this after we just met. I hate it when people see me like this," Nakayama said with a tired voice.

"Don't be sorry, it's fine, it doesn't ruin anything about you. Everyone goes through something that makes them cry. It's not going to make me think about you any differently," I said.

"Thank you Kirishima," she said with a slight smile and a groggy voice.

She reached out for my hand and squeezed it.

"I'm just speaking the truth," I said putting my other hand over hers.

"I wanted to ask," she said with a smile. "Not that I'm trying to kick you out or anything but, why are you staying here with me?" She asked.

"Well, I couldn't just leave you alone like this and classes are over now. That's how long you've been passed out. I told my parents I was going to stay a little longer to help somebody," I explained.

"Awe, Kirishima, you're so sweet, thank you," she said rolling on her side to face me. Then her smile turned to panic. "Wait, you said classes are over?!" She asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"For how long?" She asked.

"Uh, I'd say almost two hours by now," I said.

"Oh no," she whined. "My parents are going to kill me," she panicked.

"I think Recovery Girl called them earlier," I said.

"They're still going to be mad," she said. "They hate it when I don't come home on time, even if my school calls them," she said.

"I don't know what to tell you, hopefully if you tell them what happened they'll understand," I said.

"I doubt it," she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Well- it's just..." she just couldn't make eye contact.

It was almost like she wanted to tell me but at the same time, she was hesitant.

"Nakayama, if you don't want to talk about it then it's fine. You don't have to tell me," I said.

"Yeah, maybe now isn't a good time to talk about it," she said.

Then eventually Recovery Girl said she could go home. She was a little weak in her legs.

"Here let me walk you home, so you don't hurt yourself even more," I said walking beside her.

"Y-you don't have to do that," she said tensing up a little a bringing her hand up to her mouth.

"It's fine, I insist," I said and grabbed her arm so she could lean on me.

The whole way I could tell she was trying to hurry but her legs were shaking. We finally got to her house and it looked like tears were forming in her eyes. She took a deep breath and turned to me with a smile on her face.

She hugged me tightly around my chest and put her head against my shoulder.

"Thank you so much for being here for me Kiri. I don't think I would've been able to handle it well without your comfort," she said then held onto me tighter.

She was shaking and I could tell she was holding back tears. I hugged her back tightly, I put my hand on the back of her head with the other on her back.

"I wouldn't have wanted to go through that alone either. So I felt like I had to be there for you," I said.

We broke the hug and said our goodbyes. I waited until she went inside and then I went home.
