It had been a quiet day for the colony, just like any other. Workers have been living in a bunker they built to keep safe from the murderous drones that had appeared one day. While most Workers are content with living their lives protected by very sturdy doors, Uzi is starting to get sick of it. She had been lying in her room, staring up at the ceiling of her bed. The past few days have been even more unbearable than usual. Lately, she was trying to find a way to finish a project she was working on not necessarily for her school, but for all the Workers living in the boring bunker, to some degree. Uzi sat up, letting a snicker slip out her mouth.
"Oh, once my sick-as-hell railgun is finished, I'll finally be able to earn my Dad's respect! Er-... I mean... I'll save the world and stuff... I just need one last part, then it'll be complete." Uzi pulled the railgun from underneath her workbench.
She placed it on top of the table, looking over the almost complete weapon. A feeling of accomplishment flowed through her circuits as a smirk crossed her face. Uzi knew that one piece was missing before her gun was completed. Yet, to get the final piece will be hell if she's not careful. If she could recall, the last piece was located outside the colony's sturdy doors. More specifically, it was right where the Murder Drones had just so happened to have set up their lair.
"I can worry about that later, I need to focus on how I'm going to sneak out without my Dad noticing." The last two times Uzi had headed out, her father, Khan, ran into her.
Luckily for her, Khan wasn't the brightest drone in the colony. She was able to come up with an excuse that was convincing enough to him. With another smirk, Uzi grabbed her railgun, straightened her hair, and left her room. She quickly walked over to her Dad's room, slightly opening the door just enough to grab the master key. With a tiny snicker, Uzi made her way out of her house and off toward Door Three. As soon as she reached the third door, it lifted open with Khan standing on the other side.
"Oh! Robo-Jesus!".
"Where do you think you're going?" Uzi nervously chuckles, slightly swaying back and forth with a small smile.
"O-oh, you know... Just checking out the nice... uh... door that my old man built... heh..." Khan's expression remained deadpanned, putting his hands on his hips.
"Uzi, I can appreciate your keen eyes for doors so good, but this is the third time I've seen you here this week." Uzi averted her gaze, still wearing a nervous smile as he squinted his eyes.
"Ughhh! Fine, I was... uh... hoping I could... check the exterior mechanisms of Door One! Mm... because... that's the project I'm working on for school? Y-yeah! A big o'l door, just like my old man built..." She smiled brightly as a bit of blush came across her face.
"Uzi... This is great news! I knew you would come around to doors- Good door, good door~... Well, here, the wrench I used to make my first door- and to put your mother out of her misery when those Murder Drones got to her with their nanite acid- I want you to have it." Khan pulled out a wrench from his coat pocket.
He held it out to Uzi, a very proud expression on his face. Uzi hesitantly took it as a nervous chuckle slipped out. Suddenly, Khan pulled his daughter into an embrace. Uzi froze up, not expecting any familial love from her somewhat deadbeat dad. The hug ended quickly, Khan having his arm around her shoulder.
