~There are some story spoilers in this chapter that come from the remake, so steer clear if you don't want to get spoiled~
I also apologize for the really long wait for this chapter, but I have been really busy with school, and I also got so into the remake that I didn't have enough time to write anything.
My heart dropped for a minute before realizing that he was just unconscious; most likely from the amount of blood he had lost in a short period of time.
Then Ada came waltzing through the door with something in her hand.
"Is he alright?" She spoke, looking at Luis with a solemn expression.
"He's still alive, but badly injured. Saddler stabbed him in the side."
Ada held out the hand with the object in it. "Take it. It'll relieve his pain."
"Thank you." I took it from her and stuffed it in my pocket until he would wake up. "I know we never really had a good start, but I really do appreciate what you've for Leon and me."
A genuine smiled formed on her face. "That, I will have to agree with. Maybe we can stop our arguing and call it a truce." She held her hand out.
I stood up and shook it with a bit of hesitation. "Frenemy's then?"
She nodded and left the room without another word.
I sat back down next to Luis and took out the medication Ada gave me. It looked like the convulsion pills Luis has, but smaller.
A few minutes later I heard Luis waking up beside me.
"Tessa?" He said, moving his head to look at me.
"How are you feeling?"
He winced in pain as he tried to sit up. "Like shit, but I'm not bleeding anymore so I'll take it."
"This might help a bit." I handed him the medication and he took it without hesitation.
"Where the hell did this come from?" He asked, after he had swallowed the pills. The pain was probably getting too unbearable.
"A frenemy, I guess you could say. Her name is Ada Wong."
Luis looked surprised by this remark. "You two know each other!?"
How the hell he would know Ada? "Yeah, we met in Raccoon City six years back. How do you know her?"
"It's funny that you ask; she's the one that asked me to get the sample."
I sighed and stood up. "Not surprised." I grabbed onto Luis' forearm and slung it over my shoulder, pulling him up to stand.
"You're not angry?" He spoke with the confusion intertwined in his voice.
I shook my head. "No. This is normal for Ada, and I bet she offered you something really important is return."
"Yeah. Keeping my life."
We walked down to a railcar and I decided pretty quickly that it was the best way to go; Luis could rest for a couple minutes and come to find out it was way faster than walking.
"Are you going to be able to walk on your own?" I asked him as we sat down in the cart, and it sped off down the track.
"Maybe, but I sort of like being carried by a señorita." His normal smug smile spread across his face.
