About ten minutes passed before the door opened again. I jumped up to see...a lady with a red sweater, the same one she saw at the village chief's house, but this time I knew who it really was.
"Ada."
"It has been a long time hasn't it. I'm glad you recognize me." She hummed and then looked down at Ashley. Her smile ever so slightly faltered.
"What are you doing here? More work for a certain someone?" I asked, but she didn't look up from Ashley.
"It's too late for her, you and I both know that. Leon might need some more convincing, though."
"She's not going to get hurt unless both Leon and I are dead. It's our damn job." Already she was pushing my buttons, just like she did when we first met.
She finally looked at me and smiled again. "You two really are like the same person."
"Who's the same?" I looked down to see Ashley waking up and I cannot explain how relieved I was.
I kneeled down to the couches level. "How are you feeling?"
She shrugged her shoulders and then noticed Ada. She looked back at me with concern, but I waved it off, saying she wasn't anything to worry about.
"This is an old acquaintance of mine, though I still am not sure what she is doing here." Ada kept a steady smile, but I could tell she was on the verge of scoffing.
"Well, I just want to help you all." I gave her a cold glare. "There's no other reason, at least not of your importance." She turned on heel. "You don't have to tell Leon that I dropped by; I'll go find him." She closed the door behind her.
"Should I even ask who that was?" Ashley said, standing up beside me.
"Her name is Ada Wong. Long story short she's a walking-talking roulette wheel."
Ashley gave a little nod and followed me out of the door.
"Hopefully Leon didn't go too far." I said more to myself than to Ashley.
We kept to the outside walls, which worked out in our favor since I heard two very familiar voices in a large corridor by, what looked like, the entrance to the inside of the castle. Leon and Luis were talking to each other. I couldn't help but smile seeing both of them unscathed.
"Good to see neither of you are ripped to shreds." I said, and both of them turned to me and Ashley with a smile.
"How are you feeling?" Leon said walking directly to Ashley.
"Fine, for the most part."
"Good to see that you weren't mauled to death." I said to Luis as he walked over to me.
"You think that dogs can kill me?" He placed both of his hands on his chest like he was hurt.
"They have tenacles; I'm surprised I only got my legs cut up and that you don't have a scratch."
"Anyways, did you get what you were looking for?" Leon said, turning his attention back to Luis.
He nodded and started to check his pockets, but his smile slowly faded. "Damn! I must've dropped it when I was running away from them."
"Dropped what?" Ashley asked.
He looked at the three of us shook his head, more to himself than us. "Pills that will stop your convulsions."
I felt my entire body tense up and the world seemed to spin.
"Look I know you are carriers. Have you been coughing up blood?"
