Yoaly couldn't take her gaze off Nala once they locked eyes. She took in every single ounce of her.

It has only been a few weeks since Yoaly last saw Nala, but everything about her was exactly the same besides her hair. It was in large plaits before, but now cornrowed into a very detailed and intricate pattern with a fresh fade on the sides.

'She looks so good,' Yoaly thought to herself. 'My God, she's fine as hell.'

Nala couldn't take her eyes off Yoaly as she sat across from her at the bar. She thought the girl looked beautiful with her natural curls piled into a puff at the top of her head, fully showing off her chubby cheeks and almond-shaped eyes.

"You just gonna keep staring?" Yoaly teased. "Or are you gonna ask me what I want to drink?"

"I thought you said I'd never see you again," Nala teased her right back.

"Yeah, but I had a change of heart. Isn't a girl allowed to change her mind?"

"Yoaly, why are you here? My good looks can't be the only reason you came back," Nala teased.

"It definitely wasn't your drink-mixing abilities," Yoaly teased her right back.

"Oh, you have jokes." She leaned in close to Yoaly when she said this next part so only she would hear her. "That's very bold for someone who shouldn't even be here right now."

Yoaly leaned in just as close and whispered back, "There's a lot of things I'm not supposed to do. That's never stopped me from doing them."

Nala pushed away from the bar, laughing and shaking her head. A few customers flagged her down to order more drinks or to close out their tabs. She cleaned her station and collected her tips because, after all, she was at her place of work. Not even a girl as beautiful as Yoaly could distract her from her bag.

And the whole time Yoaly just watched Nala as she worked. She was mesmerized by how gracefully she mixed drinks. Her charm and charism showed with each and every customer she interacted with.

"So," Yoaly started when Nala finally turned her attention back to her. "About that drink I was trying to order?"

"Let me guess, do you want another old-fashioned?" Nyla only asked because that was the drink Yoaly attempted to order the first time she'd visited the bar.

"Depends," Yoaly shrugged. "Are you gonna make it with barley tea again?"

"Yoaly," Nala scoffed. "You know you can't be here. Seriously."

It's not that she didn't want to see Yoaly. She'd been thinking about the girl non-stop for weeks now, but she didn't think she'd actually get the chance to ever see her again.

And now that she's here, sitting just a few feet away from her, Nala wasn't sure what to do. She was at work. She couldn't just up and leave in the middle of her shift so she could go run off with some random girl she'd only met once.

Yoaly pouted. "Why are you in such a rush for me to leave?"

"Because you're distracting me," Nala answered very truthfully. Just having Yoaly that close to her, watching her every move, was making her nervous.

"Nala," Yoaly stopped her from walking away again. "I came here because I wanted to talk to you."

Nala just nodded her head. "Okay."

"I don't want you to think I'm weird or anything for just showing up here, but I didn't know how else to get in contact with you."

Upon hearing that, Nala regretted all the times she stared at Yoaly's Instagram page and didn't follow or message her. If only she'd known that Yoaly thought about her just as much, if not more.
