The young guard walked proudly along the corridor that was the link between the two wings of the building. His sharp eyes looked at the paintings on the gray cracked walls, the history of which he knew every detail by heart. He then turned his gaze toward the arcade located on the right. From them he had a view of the huge garden stretching in front of the castle. He remembered how, back in his childhood days, he used to run around it without a care in the world and tease the walking Valkyries. Its end was nowhere to be seen, only on the horizon was the image of a great planet shimmering with various colors.
Everyone he passed looked away from him and slightly bowed his head, while the women sighed quietly hoping for any interest in their person. The man liked the trepidation and interest he aroused in others, so a sly smile never left his face.
He walked down the winding staircase and turned in a direction he knew well. When he finally found himself in front of the right door, he pulled the handle and without much difficulty opened the massive gates and stepped inside without knocking.
The chamber he found himself in was quite large, practically every wall was occupied by bookshelves, where not where lay various instruments and figurines. The exception was one, where the entire width and length of it was a window decorated with red curtains fastened with gold buckles on the sides. In the middle stood a large oak desk with a leather armchair, and behind it stood a stocky man. If it weren't for his stature he could have been mistaken for an old man, as he had a gray hair and beard. With his arms folded, he stared at the landscape before him. He had long since heard the distinctive footsteps of his protégé heading for the chamber, so a faint smile appeared on his face as soon as he crossed the threshold of the room.
- You summoned me - the young man's tubular voice reverberated off the walls drowning out the prevailing silence. The older man turned around and sent the black-haired man a broad smile.
- I remember how my soldiers fell into the fountain in front of the castle because of you. You were running away from them at the time when they caught you swapping weapons in the basement. Already then I knew that you would grow into quite a bad guy - the young man only rolled his eyes at these words, but also smiled slightly at this memory.
- Did you call me to reminisce about the good old days? Or on some more serious matter? - He raised his eyebrow inquiringly and sat down on a small couch in front of the desk. The old man laughed, but did not answer again. He only shook his head and also sat down in his chair.
- Also on an important matter - he replied and straightened up gravely. The brunet smiled as he got to the point.
- I turn to listen.
- A few days ago someone used magic. Maybe it's a small thing, because it happens notoriously, but this time, it was too powerful to ignore - the black-haired man furrowed his eyebrows.
- Dark?
- Not this time. It's pure energy. I suspect that we have misplaced one element and it is imperative to find it before the demons do.
- How is that possible? After all, all those who possessed it were brought to Valkyrie long ago, and for a long time our genes do not reveal themselves outside of it - he quipped.
- Apparently, we have an exception. I am strongly surprised myself. Someone must have hidden it, but did not foresee the consequences of the power awakening. This person, whoever he is, wields a powerful energy, I sensed it very acutely, even though it is just developing. The source is from Earth. I am not able to give a more precise location, because this magic has spread to different horizons, which surprises me greatly - at the same moment he stretched out his hand in front of him and opened it. Then a colored glow rose above it, which became clearer, thus showing a miniature of the cosmos and the planets wandering on it. One of them glowed green, and it was the one where the missing element was located - I am convinced that she will not be able to control it, and then there will be a risk that she will expose the World of Magic and make quite a mess in the process, causing harm to people and more.
- What part do I have to play in this? - asked the brunet.
- I think it's obvious - remarked the old man and looked at his companion with penetrating eyes - Your team will bring this person to me. Being on the spot you will sense where to look for her.
- Good. When should we set out? - pleased with his new task, the guard stood up and waited for an answer.
- Immediately. There is no time to waste - ordered the older man - Inform your comrades and head for the training room. You will need weapons, because you can't do without confronting the demons. You can't let this person fall into their hands, unfortunately the tattoos and eyes are visible to them, and when they realize it's a freshman they will be able to possess him more easily and use him against us.
The brunet nodded his head in a gesture of understanding and without a word, he left his mentor's chamber with a quick step. He was glad to be able to prove himself again. He always dedicated himself to his missions and carried them out with full enthusiasm, and knowing that he was fighting added to his satisfaction.
