A pelican landed in a dark forest. The doors opened and ODST troopers walked out of the pelican.
Janesa: Hell troopers. Give me readings on any Grimm movements.
Tai: Yes mam!.
Janesa: Neo. I want you to scout up a head. Roman You and Tai with me.
Neo nodded and then ran up a head with her sniper rifle. Janesa along with Tai and Roman were walking into the dark mercy forest.
Roman: Remind me why command sent us here?.
Tai: Reports about a strange type of Grimm.
They came across a house that was out here in the woods. The house was broken down and looked old.
Janesa: I'm picking up some movement on my radar.
She slowly walked towards the shed where the movement was coming from. Janesa opened the door looking inside. The shed was dark and had no light in it, so Janesa activated her night vision and saw a little girl looking up at her. Janesa holstered her gun and then bent on her knees.
Janesa: It’s ok. We won't harm you. Are you lost?.
The girl did not speak and only nodded her head. Janesa picked the girl up, noticing she had bruises on her. She gave the girl to Tai.
Janesa: Take the girl back to the pelican and treat her wounds. This means you as well Roman. I will go look for Neo.
They nodded and Janesa went deeper into the woods where the house was. She noticed some blood that was on the floor and followed the red trail. The trail lead behind the house where Janesa heard fast movement. She turned to face the direction where she heard the footsteps. All she saw was a white skull and red eyes before Janesa was hit through the house's wall. She stood up and was about to shoot the creature when it clawed her gun from her hand and then picked her up by the head and threw her through the roof. Janesa felt out of balance as she tried getting up. Blood from her hand that was clawed open started dripping onto the floor. She walked through the door Infront of her revealing a room with familiar and unfamiliar faces.
Jane: And who's this?.
Janesa looked at the woman with pale skin black hair and black eyes and her head started hurting. Janesa clutched onto her helmet in pain.
Claws burst out of Janesa’s belly. The Grimm humanoid creature that looked malnourished started growling well lifting Janesa up. Janesa’s radio went off.
Tai: lieutenant do you copy?.
Janesa grabbed the Grimms fingers what we're poking out of her belly. She had a good grip and broke the fingers off. It yelled in pain as she fell to the floor. Janesa coughed up blood that was leaking
through her helmet. Janesa drew her M6 pistole and then rolled on her back and shot at the creature. The bullets ripped through the strange Grimm-like paper. Neo, who was aiming at its head opened fire from the tree she was hiding in blowing its head clean off. Janesa stood up and holstered her M6.
Janesa: Fucking peace of shit.
She was panting as she stood there. Tai and Roman rushed to her location to see the dead Grimm and their leader’s wounds. Roman got under her arm holding her.
Roman: You look like shit.
Tai: Jane?.
Jane: Nice of you to drop in. Now mind explaining to me why that woman is wearing armor that has Juanes's service tag?.
Tai: I am unauthorized to do so.
Neo climbed into the room through the window.
Roman: Good shot Neo. Ice cream for you when we get back.
Neo smiled with joy under her helmet.
Janesa pushed Roman back and a long spike pierced her chest.
Jane: Jeff enough!.
Jeff: Aww. You spoil my fun.
Janesa started moving towards him as the spike went deeper. She felt numb to the pain as she placed her hands over the man's head and snapped his neck.
[Time skip]
Janesa woke up in the hospital ward. Next to her was Jacob who was fast asleep.
Blake: Glade to see you are up.
Janesa: How long was I out?.
Blake: About five hours.
Janesa stood up and got dressed in her uniform and placed Jacob in the bed.
Miranda: I was told you came across your mother. She is waiting in the other room to talk to you.
Janesa walked up to the door and hesitated for a bit but opened the door where Janes was sitting, eyeing her as if she did something wrong. Janes closed the door and sat down.
Jane: Miranda told me what the UNSC did to you. I would have killed them all but then I would have no job.
Janesa: Job?.
Jane: Miranda offered me a job after you went missing.
Janesa: I see.
Jane: I do not care if you are now my daughter. What they did is permanent. I was also told you have kids.
Janesa: I should introduce you to them sometime.
For some reason talking to her mother felt awkward.
Jane: You should know. You have a younger sister that is an ODST as well. Her name is Nina.
Janesa: And Sally?.
Jane: Spartan IV.
The coms went off and Janesa heard a voice that made her look down in both anger and sadness. She knew the voice that echoed through the base all too well.
Weiss: This is Major Weiss Schnee. We have returned from the hunt.
The coms went down, and the doors opened as Miranda rushed in.
Miranda: My father only now told me that Weiss survived and was sent out on a mission three years ago in secret.
Jacob placed his hand on Janesa’s shoulder.
Jacob: You, ok?.
His voice broke her out of her depressed state. She looked up at him and tried to make a smile.
Jane: Least my daughter found a loving caring husband. Her sister Nina is into trash.
The ship landed as ODST and Spartans in white armor all exited the ship.
Janesa along with the other leaders of units were all standing there watching the troopers exit from the ship. Winter and Willow were there as well. Miranda took Janesa to the corner to have a word with her. Ox was carrying cargo from the landed ship into the base. Weiss looked at Janesa and had a guilty look on her face. Janesa noticed and read deep into it.
Janesa: Glad you are alive.
Weiss: Jaune. I mean. Janesa. May we talk privately?.
Janesa: We may.
Janesa followed Weiss.
Weiss: I am sorry for all that has happened to you.
Janesa: I forgive you. Long as our past doesn't interfere with the present.
Janesa was holding back a lot of words to say.
