Damian POV

The walk back to the castle was an uneventful one. Still, my mind raced with thoughts. I kept asking myself if my recent actions had been thought through properly. Of course they had! I had my principle and I'd stuck by it.

It didn't take me long to be right back where I'd started, the old castle loomed over me as I approached the gate. The zombies outside wasted no time letting me in, knowing better than to defy me. I'd been merciful on the one that had ambushed me, this didn't mean I'd do so again.

I'd grown all too familiar with the stone corridors of the castle by now. The only change since my arrival here was the ever-increasing number of zombies. Some still resembled humans aside from their feral expression and pale complexion. Others were transformed into deformed creatures, of all sorts of appearances.

I easily found my way back to Dio's room, once again at the set of double doors. For a moment I stopped before sighing and finally pushing the doors open. Straight away, my brother's voice greeted. "So, you've returned WITHOUT the brat. Good, I'm glad that is out of your system."

My attention landed on him, led sprawled out with a girl in front of him. I noted similarities to this girl and the 'Poco' boy from earlier, likely his sister given her age. She was probably only a year or two younger than me.

Before I could say anything, or ask my brother what he was doing, Dio turned his attention back to the girl and spoke. "As I was saying, before my brother so rudely interrupted. I offer you a choice. Wouldn't you like to enjoy your youth for all eternity? I will not force my friendship on you, unlike some. You are free to choose your own destiny."

I remained silent, folding my arms I watched the girl with interest. The girl had a look of innocence, I'd give her that. Though I sensed a fire within her that only emphasised when I heard her mutter to herself. "Devil."

Either not hearing her, or just pretending to, my brother knelt down next to her and asked "What's that you said?" In a swift motion, the girl's hand swung around and slapped Dio across the face!

I let out a laugh, impressed with the girl as she exclaimed "You're just a damned DEVIL!" For a moment, Dio's expression remained a simple smirk for a moment, blood dribbled from his lip which he wiped away with a lick, the rose he held wilted and began to whither away.

As soon as he stood up, I noticed something. A zombie was lurking on the ceiling directly above the girl, a few drips seeped through its mask onto the floor. The zombie was a large hulking figure, with a bag over its head.

Dio approached a door and stated "Alas, though you will soon part, allow me to introduce my companion." The figure dropped down from the ceiling, the bag began wriggling about in a strange manner that caused me to raise an eyebrow in confusion.

My brother continued "This is the dreaded Doobie. Since I'm not to your taste, perhaps you'll enjoy his company." Bye mademoiselle, come brother!" He gestured for me to follow however I just stared at the figure. My expression turned to one of annoyance.
