Just sleep, just dream

It's only a nightmare and soon, we'll be set free

(And soon, we'll be set free)

Tommy stood on the main spruce floor of Techno's clean cottage, shivering from the long hike from the lands of exile. Chests lined the back wall with beautifully drawn art on the others, various pieces of the Blood God himself throughout the ages, a ladder leading up to the higher floors against the wall opposite from the chests. The blonde teen was surprised he had not frozen to death while getting to the cottage, the moon had gone from mid-sky to horizon by the time he arrived.

Technoblade had clearly just been here, Tommy could hear a fire cracking upstairs, he was just waiting for his fingers to unfreeze enough to climb the ladder. Tommy was still second guessing whether this was the best idea to come to beg the Blade for help getting gear before he went home to talk to Tubbo about retrieving his discs.

As he travelled through the night he had a lot of time to think about what was important in his life to accomplish next. He hoped the Blade would be willing to hear him out, they might have grated against each other in the past but Tommy needed help now. Tommy realised just how much he missed his discs and his Tubs and needed away from Dream to sort his thoughts out about that jerk.

He also wanted a way to get back to L'Manburg and he had plotted that maybe the fastest way to do that would be to take bargaining chips from the green-eyed bastard's hands; in other words get his discs back. Those two records were the only thing that stood in the way of him and Tubbo being friends again, the only thing Dream could use to control Tommy. Other than the feelings surrounding the whole exile thing which Tommy was still coming to terms with, he held some anger towards Tubbo about allowing that to happen to him. Tommy just really wanted to talk to Tubbo again, see his side of things, and get the disc the boy still had in his possession.

Dream seemed to want to keep the teen isolated he was now realising, part of Tommy's brain fought the idea still not wanting to believe the worst of Dream. After all he was the one to visit Tommy the most, but what else had kept everyone else away? Dream had always shown up all smiles, bringing him gifts and cheering him up when needed. But he had to be connected to why no one else came to see the teen or at least had a hand in it, right?

The boy's fingers finally had a feeling returning to them, the tingling unbearable as they came back to life. Tommy cursed as he dug through chests, taking a few things here and there, stashing them away in his inventory. Warmth washed through his body as it kicked out of survival mode, he had changed from his wet clothes into a set he had found in Techno's storage. Just as he prepared to climb the ladder to warm himself closer to the fire the sound of a gate opening creaked from just outside the walls.

Tommy froze, hearing a deep voice mumble something before the same gate sounded. Footsteps crunched through the snow closer to the door Tommy was near and the boy began to panic, he hadn't planned at all what to say to Techno. Tommy had only been mulling over his disc problem until now, he mumbled more curses under his breath as the door knob turned.

The spruce door opened on oiled hinges to a large form who began to walk in, outlined in morning light, then pausing as he locked Tommy's blue eyes with his red. The Blade had seen better days, his pink hair was a frozen mass of crimson red, he was wearing a jacket he obviously stole as it was too small on him and blood-soaked pants. He curled his lip catching eyes with Tommy, kicking the door shut behind him as he stared down the teen, empty-handed, one of the few people on the server who could look down at Tommy. An emerald earring and amethyst necklace glinted in the low lantern light, the cleanest things on the piglin hybrid.
