Audrey's head hung low.
She shifted up against the corroded brick wall, wincing in pain. Bruises lined her arms and torso, as a deep gash sat on her leg, courtesy of Fedra soldiers.
"Look I'm tired...you're tired, let's just end this. Tell me where you sister is and you're free to leave." The soldier motioned to the chains linked around her ankles. Her breath was short and fast, lifting her head to meet the eyes of the man. "I find it quite sad that you're already tired, I mean, you punch like a bitch." Her lips curled.
His stare turned darker, nearly blacking out from rage. His fist now by his side, knuckles turning white through the dark ink on his hands.
Audrey snickered, picking up on his reaction. "I'm sorry, am I overstepping my territory?" She knew she was, but she didn't give a single shit. She adored mischief. Thrived on it really, like it was hers, and only hers to utilize.
His eye twitched. He ground his teeth together, locking his jaw in place, wearing a vicious death stare. "I'll ask this to you once more, Williams. Where is Ellie."
Audrey mouthed a jesting 'Ooo', squinting her eyes. "So primitive. Tell me, does your daughter know you do this?" No response came her way, so she pressed on. "Should we have a chat with her? Hm?"
Rage overcame the man, making him lose all judgement. He gripped Audrey by the throat, pulling her back up the wall. He stormed back, keeping his tight hold on her. Slamming her head into the wall of the room, with a growl, so hard it cracked behind her.
"You don't talk to her. You don't look at her. Nothing." He snarled, holding her by his fully extended arm.
Earning a strained chuckle from Audrey's pinched windpipe. "I think I will."
Nostrils flaring, chest heaving, his thick fingers flexed, squeezing even tighter, making Audrey's face glow bright red. The look of fear in her eyes edged him on, letting out a satisfied grunt. "Where is she?!" He screamed.
A single tear rolled down her cheek, as she felt all the air exiting out of her body. Kicking and hitting him as hard as she could, Audrey's limbs started to go numb.
"She's. Gone."
Releasing his death grip, Audrey weakly fell to the floor, gasping for air.

Ellie sat, curled up on the weak, hardwood floors of the building.
She gazed out the window. The room was stuffy, smelling like dust and mildew. Sunlight beamed in from the huge wall of windows, heat seeping through, making it feel that much more stuffy. It was silent apart from the occasional cough or shuffle of feet from a few fireflies waiting outside.
Leaning her head back against the wall, she rolled her eyes. This was bullshit. Ellie wasn't fond of the fireflies...testing her everyday to see if she would turn into a fucking monster, separating the sisters from each other, everything. She despised them.
Hearing footsteps coming from a distance, she immediately stood up. The door slammed open, revealing Audrey panting heavily, wiping her forearm over her face. "Thank god you're okay."
She rushed over to Ellie, wrapping her arms around her, holding her tightly. A sigh of relief escaped her lips, as she slowed her breathing, enjoying the moment.
"You look like shit." Ellie snickered, pulling away.
"Thanks, I'm trying a new style out." She smirked, messing up her sisters hair. "Are you okay though?"
"Yes I'm fine. Now tell me what happened I wanna know!" She practically whined and begged.
Sitting down on the ground, Audrey closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. "It's for your own good." She spoke, shaking her head. Looking up, she saw Ellie's jaw becoming frigid. She was angry as hell.
She had always been protective of her sister. Checking in with her everyday to make sure she wasn't murdered, due to her naively trusting nature that pissed Audrey off to no end. Although she knew Ellie wouldn't do anything that stupid, her concerns that something bad would happened to Ellie were slightly heightened because of the situation they're in.
"Ellie, calm down."
"No, Audrey. I will not calm down. You can't just ignore me and not fucking tell me anything for—"
Cut off by the door swinging open, Marlene slowly walked in, throwing over their backpacks. Audrey narrowed her eyes, reluctantly reaching for her beat up and dirty bag. She didn't trust easily, and when people have her and her sister chained up, she's sure as hell not going to trust them.
Audrey grabbed her bag as fast as she could, rummaging through it, until she felt a certain object in her hand. She pulled out her knife, flicking it open, directing it towards the woman who sat down on the floor beside Ellie.
"You're not scared?"
She shook her head.
"Then unlock me." Ellie said in a quiet, yet serious tone.
Marlene looked back and forth between the sisters, keeping a subtle eye on Audrey. She knew what the older sister was capable of. "How about we start with a thank you."
"Fuck you." Audrey spat.
"For what."
"For saving your life? I am the one who told them not to shoot you if you recall."
Audrey pursed her lips, watching as Ellie slowly started to let her guard down. "Why did you stop them?"
Pulling out a key, Marlene released Ellie from the chains. "We'll get to that."
Audrey gripped her knife tightly, waiting for something to happen, to say she was only intimidating was an understatement. When they were brought to the QZ, soldiers separated them, sending Ellie way to the school and locking Audrey up in a cell for days.
It was rough for her, especially since she despised most people. A few days passed, and new meat joined her. It was why she ended up killing her first cellmate. The man only lasted a day with Audrey. The second he stepped into the cell, he started calling her a bitch and trying to put up a front of bravado, he even went as far to throwing himself at her. None of his insults changed the stoic expression Audrey wore. She wasn't surprised by it, but that still didn't stop her from plotting his murder. Se went through a couple more, getting creative with it. Both of them dead. After that, she got a cell to herself.
She killed three men in her first week in the QZ. Finally, Audrey was released and put on wall duty.
Let's just say, she got quite the reputation. She wasn't the Devil, she was the person you sent to kill the Devil.
