Wow this book is actually going somewhere for once

I woke up alone on the couch wrapped in a blanket. I wasn't offended though, Socks was probably already up. He was always a morning person while I was always the sleepy one. What day was is again..? Wednesday I think, we had to go to school.

I grumbled and kicked my legs off the couch and out of the blanket before actually standing up.

"Looks like the blanket creature has risen."

I sighed and stayed quiet, I was far to tired to have a conversation right now.

"We have school in about 40 minutes, go get changed."

I nodded and walked upstairs to Sock's bedroom, that's where my bag was right now. I pulled out some clothes and went into the bathroom to change.

I came back down and Socks had cooked breakfast for the both of us, we both sat down and started eating our food.

"You ready to leave tomorrow?"

"No.. I don't think I've ever left Europe or my city in general.."

"I get that.. it was hard leaving America for the first time."

"Oh yeah, I've been meaning to ask, why did you come here if you were going to leave so quickly."

"My job."

"Ah."

I found it suspicious that he didn't mention his work, but I guess he just subconsciously overlooked it by accident.

"We better get going Blaza.."

"Coming" I said with a yawn.

Socks shut the door and locked it when we got outside, and we started walking to school.

We talked along our way to school, and he brought up something I hadn't thought about for a while.

"Ehm.. what are you going to do about your mother.?"

"I mean.. she isn't here, so I guess I don't have to do anything."

I forgot that he had read my journal, I didn't really mind it though. Actually, I sort of liked the fact that he read it, I felt a bit better knowing someone knew what had been going on this whole time.

"What are you going to do about your PC?"

"I think I have a USB chip for all the data and I could probably stuff some of it into suitcases."

Socks stifled a laugh and said "good luck with that..".

"I'll manage, just you watch.."

"I didn't say I was doubting you, I was wishing you good luck."

"We both know that is not what you meant."

"Fine fine, I don't have faith that a giant suitcase filled with wires and a giant box will pass security."

"Fair.."

Socks and I went back and forth like that, just joking around for the rest of the walk there.

"We still have 45 minutes until the bell rings.." Socks said, putting his phone back in his backpack.

"Do you want to get something at a cafe?"

"Why not."

I knew a small local cafe, it was a cozy little place that I visited ever so often, usually to get some sort of coffee.

I opened the door an a bell chime rang and as soon as I could say something, a waiter was standing right in front of us.

"A table for two?"
