You stared outside the classroom window, seeing rain droplets forcefully fall to the concrete floor. Why, oh why did it have to rain today? You could have sworn that when you checked your phone, it was predicted to be clear skies for the rest of the week! But of course, it was a Twisted Wonderland, where the unpredictable happened nearly nonstop.

Sighing, you accepted you and your companions fate. Unlike the rest of the students attending Night Raven College, they could simply go to the Chamber of Mirrors and be teleported to their dorms. Sure, they would still have to make haste since they'd be teleported right outside their specific enclosures, but it would only be a few yards or so. But you and your mischievous right-hand man? Or should I say right-paw monster? Either way, you and Grim would have to briskly walk all the way to your guys shared, rundown dorm. Ramshackle Dorm. Though no words were exchanged, a simple glance at each other was enough for the both of you to understand the dread you shared.

For once the echoing bell of the day ending was something to be feared. No point in complaining though, is there?

"Y'know, I'm actually not glad that the day is over," Grim grumbled, his ears narrowed to point behind him.

"I know, but after over 6 months of our stay here, I'd say we should just be used to it by now. Let's just hope there aren't too many leaks in the roof this time..." You replied. Your main concern was how drenched Ramshackle Dorm would be this time. Sure, you found that enchanted hammer a little while back in what is now your guest room, and though you did use it to attempt to patch up the previous holes in the walls and ceiling, the undeniable fact was that the interior of Ramshackle itself was old. The wood was rotting. And although you could conjure up simple planks to cover up the patches, you couldn't just rebuild an entire dorm.

While you and Grim were quietly ranting to one another to stall having to walk back "home", you two were unbeknownst to the fact that there was a specific artificial intelligence eavesdropping on the two of you.

Ortho Shroud

"Brother, did you hear that? The Prefect and Grim can't go back to their dorm in these conditions! It would be cruel to leave them like this..." Ortho whined.

"And what do you expect me to do about it? Invite them to stay at our dorm till the storms over?" Idia sassed, he obviously didn't mean a word he said. Too bad Ortho didn't catch that.

"Yes! We should invite them over! What a wonderful idea, Brother!" Ortho joyed. The half of his face may had been covered up with a mask, but the way his eyes glimmed could practically make all the dark clouds outside disappear.

"W-w-WHAT!? W-we can't do that! I was being sarcastic, Ortho!" The taller blue flame haired boy squeaked. Out of all people, wouldn't it be obvious that he would never suggest such things /srs?

"Brother... Prefect is always so nice to us despite how everyone else treats us. And from what I've scanned, Grim seems to resemble a feline quite promptly. You like cats, don't you? How could we just turn them away like this!" Ortho's cute little brows furrowed at his older brother, his little fist balling.

Idia thought for a second. His little brother wasn't wrong, you were one of the nicest people in NRC to him and his brother. And although he couldn't say Grim was as friendly as he would like him to be, he was basically a monster cat. Not to mention, Idia knew that Ortho wouldn't leave him alone if he left you and the grey gremlin.

After thinking for a second, Idia (surprisingly) complied. Giving Ortho a nod of approval, he was instantly dragged by his little brother to you.

"Prefect! Grim!" Ortho shouted excitedly.
