Katniss' pov.
We made our way back, my mind was swimming with questions and thoughts. What should I tell the others? Should I tell at all? Should we tell everyone? How would they react?
I've noticed, as of late, that I've always got questions racing though my mind, stressing me out. My mind hasn't been clear or relaxed in weeks, I knew taking this job would be hard work and result in stress, but I didn't think it was this much
"So, what's it like living with vampires?"eve asked, I turn to her. I decided to just walk in human form, seeing as I may need to talk to them
"It's okay. They can be cold and hostile, but we protect one another. We're a family"I say, my eyes darting through the trees
I'm always on edge out here, especially since the rouges-lost wolves-attacked. I can never know what's lurking around the corner.
"And the werewolves?"Mary asks, her eyes glistening with curiously
"Hard. We're very possessive towards our mate and our family. We have respect for one another, but we're hard headed, and fight instead of talking and trying to sort it out properly"I say, she nods
"Do you?"she asks, I shrug
"Sometimes. When I get too angry I'll just attack to get it over with, but most of the time I come up with plans in my head and use them, or I'll try and negotiate with whoever is causing the trouble"I say, she picks up at the light warning in my tone
"So, your the perfect mix of a werewolf and a vampire"eve says, I slow my pace a little
"No. Nobody's perfect, I just use my abilities to my advantage"I say, her mother gives her a glare, scolding her I presume
"We we're told enough training makes you perfect"Mary says, I shake my head
People tell children that being well behaved or practicing enough will make them perfect, it won't, nobody's perfect. We we're born to be real, not perfect, make the best out of what we have and who we are, be happy.
"Well, they lied"I say, walking ahead a little
My eyes drift to the little shimmers of light by the trees and resting by the lake. Fireflies, I smile, as a child a had a obsession with them, wanting to know how they light up. I always thought it was magic
I notice Chris looking at them, his eyes wide with shock. I smile down at him.
"Mom. Look"I her Mary whisper, pointing towards the fireflies
I grin, a idea popping into my head.
I lift my hand, twisting it slightly and bending my fingers. The trees sparkle with Amber dust, the vines of Ivy twisting across, and meeting in the middle where the fireflies are hovering.
The fireflies perch themselves on the ivy, not paying attention to us.
Mary and chris stare over that them, but eves eyes follow from my shoulder to my hand, they grow wide and her breathing hitches
"Witch"she mutters, perking the attention of her mother and grandmother
"What did you say baby?"her mother asks, she points at me
"Witch. Mother she's a witch"she gasps, I would have thought she already knew, seeing as snow told them everything about me
Unless he doesn't know about my mothers abilities, which I find very unlikely because he knows every detail about my life.
"I don't think she's a witch sweetheart, just different"her mother says, I clear my throat
"Actually she's right"I start, shock registers on her face
