Chapter sixteen

Katniss p.o.v

Rosa and Lucas sit in front of me, one the black leather office chairs. Lucas has his arm over her shoulder protectively. I smile at them, this must be nerve-wracking

"Okay. I know this is hard for you guys, but I won't split you up. The goddesses chose you guys to be mates, no alpha can change that"I say, they both let out sighs of relief, they exchange a look

"Okay, but how will we get my father to agree. He's a strict man, he claims Lucas isn't worthy of being my mate, Because he isn't a alpha"rosa says, see what I mean.

People don't respect other people, even if someone hasn't got a fancy job, or a high ranking title, doesn't mean their below you. Everyone should be treated equally, that's what I do. No one calls me leader, or miss. It's just katniss

"Well, I've got good persuading skills. My dad was a alpha, i needed them. Anyways, he can't disagree with the goddesses"I say, they nod

"But, he can claim we're keeping you against your will. If he comes here, you have to show him you want to be here. If not many people will die, including Lucas"I say, her eyes widen

"It won't. I promise"he whispers in her ear, i smile. They were meant to be together

"Okay, faze one of the plain; Try and persuade him over the phone"I say, picking up my burgundy telephone

I dial his number, it rings a few times. I hear him walk around and then a door shut.

"Hello?"he asks, his voice is deep, laced with authority

"Hello again. Katniss speaking. Anyways I've found your daughter, she's actually siting in my office"I say, he lefts out a sigh of relief

"Thank you. Tell her to come back this instant"he says, my face becomes hard

"That I can't do. She wants her mate, it's obvious. She came all the way from England for him, she's not leaving without him. Alpha think about your daughter, she needs her mate. Just as I need my and you need yours"I say, he growls lowly

"No. You do not tell me what my daughter needs. She doesn't need a weak, incompetent boy. She needs a man, someone who will lead by her side"he says, I hear rosa growl, he insulted her mate, not a good idea.

"What's she needs is a mate who will love and care for her, someone who will make her happy, someone who won't hurt her. She needs Lucas"I say, I see Lucas smile

"No she doesn't, if she isn't back by Thursday I'm coming"he says, hanging the phone up

I let out a annoyed groan. Tilting my head back, I rub my face.

"Well, faze one failed. It's time we proceed to faze two; face to face persuasion"I say, they nod

"Okay. Thanks kat, we'll see you later"Lucas says, I nod

"Bye guys"I say, they leave, closing the door behind them.

I turn around quickly, opening the sliding door in my wall. I run down the stair case, being carful of the steep steps. I walk over to the old, oak desk.

I find the paper I was looking at last, It was a list of deaths. Out of all the files that contain deaths over the years, this one has a red circle on. I pick it up, walking back upstairs.

If I had turned around to face the left wall, I would have seen the shadow standing there, watching me. But I didn't, and now I've Locked it in there without knowing.

I spend the next half and hour reading though these papers, a few stand out to me. Four full family's died in the same week, all joined somehow

These are the only deaths, that don't say how they died.

I sigh, putting the papers in my top draw, locking it. I walk downstairs, outside to where everyone is.

I scan the area, looking at everyone. Their enjoying the night, talking, laughing. This is why I enjoy living with the vampires, they don't compete for who's the best, they don't call their leader by 'alpha' or 'Luna'. It's all a first name basis

Looking around, I notice something. The yard/bonfire area is a exact square, at each edge there are trees sitting. Then in the exact middle, the bonfire always sits, and is sitting now

---flashback----
Four stone plates stand at each edge, a stone table in the middle. The table has one of each supernatural creature engraved on the sides.

Four people in dark cloaks stand on each stone plate, all raising their hands towards the moon, which has settled exactly above the table.

A body is placed on the table, by a man dressed in grey. The eclipse is at complete now. The body on the table lifts, a blue glowing mist surrounding them.

A blast of light jitters the forest, before calming. The body stands, their hands raised to the moon, a red energy in their palms.

"Fire, earth, water-"

I stumble back, leaning on the house wall. What was that? Who were they?
What were they doing?

Although my mind is swimming with questions.

One sticks

Why did I see it?

What was the flashback about? Why did kat see it? What about alpha Jason? Or the deaths?

Sorry about the short chapter, it's just I've been really busy. I promise I will try and make them longer and better quality
