"How come you never officially came out to me about being trans when I was younger?"

Jay sighs deeply, "Because you were transphobic to me."

Ryan just stared at Jay, a blank expression acting as a blanket to cover the disbelief.

"You would make remarks. In particular, I remember when I used my own masculine deoterant that mother bought me. You said that girls shouldn't use a guy's deoterant." Jay spoke.

The words weren't easy, but his voice was steady. These were words that needed to be said; However, that didn't make it easier to say but Jay didn't feel bad. He was hurting his brother with these words, but that couldn't compare to how much Ryan had hurt him with his thoughtless words back then.

The weight of the subject filled the atmosphere.

Ryan couldn't even begin to grasp the actions of his younger self. "I really.... did that."

"Yeah." Jay answered absentmindedly.

Ryan wrapped Jay into a tight hug, which caught Jay completely off guard. He hadn't seen his brother be affectionate to anyone in years, but here he was giving Jay a hug.

Jay put his arms around Ryan, but he didn't return the tight hug. It didn't feel right to.

His brother might've really hurt Jay, but he could tell that Ryan was trying to change for the better. And that's a step forward in the right direction.

At least, this is how Jay would imagine it would go when Ryan finally accepted him.
