You

«Guys I need your help.» «With what?», Sasha asked with a curious expression. «Well, how do I put this. I might have a date or something like that today and I have no idea what to wear.» Annie was the first to say anything. The others were too stunned to speak. «Just go in uniform.»
«If you have nothing constructive to say, you might as well shut up», Mikasa shot at her. Annie left without another word. «Woah Mikasa, you could have put that a bit nicer», Sasha intervened. «Why? She never has anything positive to say and I'm tired of it.»
«Girls, please. I need help.» «You could wear your dress again?»
«Really Sasha? She wore it yesterday. It probably smells like smoke and beer.» «Mikasa is right, that's not an option.» «How about you ask Christa, her clothes might fit you the best. Otherwise you can lend something from me», Mikasa suggested. «You're a genius. Thank you», I gave her a brief hug. «Hey! What about me?» «Sasha, I really love you, but I wouldn't precisely call you a genius.» Mikasa shoved me in direction of the door. «You better go looking for Christa. We wouldn't want you having a black eye later.»
I blew a kiss towards Sasha before heading out the door.

«Isn't that a bit short?» «Y/N you're going on a date, not to church», Christa pulled the lacing tight. «Even less reason to strangle me then», I gasped. «It's not my fault that your chest is bigger than mine.» «Yeah well it isn't mine either.» «You'll get used to it. I didn't pull it that hard. You're going to take it off later anyways.» «Definitely not, except for sleeping», Christa giggled, «Alone!»
«If I were him, I wouldn't let you go home alone.» «Well he most certainly will bring me home but that's it.» «If you say so», she knotted the lacing and tucked it in, «Alright, all done.» «Thank you Christa, you're the best. I promise I'll make it up to you.» «Of course, now go or you're going to be late. Chop chop.»

«Y/N you look like a maneater», teased Sasha. «Mind your tongue potato-girl», I laughed, «Or Mikasa is the only one getting an update.» «She's right Y/N, you look stunning.» «Thank you. I'm going to go now. Don't wait for me.»
«You plan on sleeping elsewhere?», Sasha grinned and even Mikasa couldn't keep a straight face. «No I'm not, but it might get late.» «Wait until he sees you. Anything could happen», she winked at me. I flipped her off and went outside.

I was a bit early, but I enjoyed the warm summer air. Leaning against the handrail I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.
«You look beautiful», I nearly feel over the railing, but a strong hand held onto my arm, «I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you.» Mike.
«No, it's fine. I just hadn't heard you approaching. Sorry.» He let go of my arm. «I meant it, though. You do look beautiful.» My cheeks heated. «Thank you», I gave him a smile. «Shall we?» «Sure.» Mike gallantly held his arm out to guide me down the stairs. «So, where are we headed?» «So there is this tavern a few streets down. Well it's not a real tavern, but it's not as stiff and stuffy like the usual places. Also they have better food.» I laughed: «I'm intrigued, a tavern for a date.» «We can go somewhere else. If you want to», he sounded disappointed. «No, that's not what I meant. It's just something I've never done.» «Dating or going to a tavern?», he appeared to be genuinely interested. «Dating in a tavern.» He said nothing for a moment. «So we're officially on a date.» «I guessed that since you've asked me out.» Talking to him was still easy, so it wasn't just the beer yesterday. But the short periods of silence weren't uncomfortable as well. Mike was over all nice to be around.
«It's over there», he gestured to a side road.

It was indeed a tavern, but a really nice one. The interior was cozy and inviting. There were no drunkards around, just a handful of people for that matter. The room was small, but everything was placed so nicely that every table had a bit of privacy.
The innkeeper showed us our table. Mike pulled my chair back for me before he took his seat on the opposite side of the table.
«This place is really nice.» «And you haven't even had the food yet.» «Do you come here often?», I was curious. «Not as much as I'd like to. But if I'm around I take any chance I get.» I knew what he was trying to say. «Mike, is it alright if I ask something of you?» «Well, it depends.» «Can we not talk about work? At least not today?» «Of course, although I might not have to say much then», he chuckled. «That's not including work friends or funny stories or things like that. It's just all anyone ever talks about. I'd rather hear about you.»
«I get that. It's tiring and I'm also not in the mood to talk about strategy and training, or anything of that matter.»
We made a deal. No work stuff for this evening.
