Landing on the Helicarrier feels… Severely underwhelming. Whilst I'm sure any human would find it impressive, something like this would've been considered a relic on my home planet. "I'd like to say I'm impressed by this display of power Fury, but I'm really not." Looking at the man walking next to me, I can see that he's not in any way amused. "You're about to meet the Avengers, act like it." Letting out a huff of annoyance, I decide to just follow the man in silence.

As we walk towards a room, I can't help but overhear the conversation due to my heightened hearing. "He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any known world." Walking into the room, I can't help but interrupt the man who I can only assume is Asgardian. "Ahh, the Chitauri. Nasty little things, and are all better off dead."

Every head in the room turns towards me and Fury, including that of a beautiful redhead in a tight bodysuit. "Team, meet Aelevea. Aelevea, meet the Avengers." Clearly not wanting to waste anymore time on me, Fury promptly turns around and leaves the room. "Asshole. Drags me here from my beautiful apartment, and a potentially wonderful Friday night of parties and gorgeous women, without even providing proper introductions. So very Fury of him."

The man who I recognize as Tony Stark looks at me amused, clearly not being a fan of Fury himself. Steve Rogers makes his way towards me, holding out his hand with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am." Taking his hand in mine and giving him a firm shake, he seems borderline surprised by the strength of my grib.

Everyone in the room goes back to quiet conversations, not entirely sure what to say or do. "If you don't mind me asking ma'am, what exactly are you?" I can see the way Steve looks at my subtly hidden pointed ears, and putting two and two together with my physical strength. This however, makes every head turn towards me again. "I'm sure the Asgardian could tell you, or I'd assume so if he's had any lessons in extinct alien races. Specifically ones with sharp ears and beautiful golden magic."

Thor looks to be in deep thought, before his eyes go wide finally realising what I am. "You're a Divipinae!" The speed at which he walks towards me is practically that of a 100m dash athlete. "How can that be though? The Divipinae has been extinct for thousands of years!?" Without even thinking, he removes the hair covering my ears, to see the defined sharp ears hidden underneath it.

His actions are halted at the sound of a loud laugh, and looking around Thor I can see that the culprit is none other than Tony Stark. "Wait, wait. You're an elf? Like an honest to God pointy eared bow wielding arrow firing elf?" Letting out a growl at his insult towards my dead brethren, I flick my wrist causing my shadowy magic to shoot out at him, and forcing him to sit down in the chair behind him. Thor's eyes go wide once again as he sees the colour of my magic, but I'm too focused on Tony to care.

"I'd be very cautious of what you say next Stark, because if there's one thing I don't take lightly, it's insulting the appearance of my race!" Stark had gone pale at this point, and everyone in the room looked far more stiff compared to before, with the surprising exception being Thor who just looked worried on my behalf. "Lady Aelevea, how come your magic isn't the golden lights of your God?" At his question, and genuine distress, I felt my shoulders slump.

"My race was wiped out to the point of extinction Thor, and the only ones kept alive were those like me. Those they allowed to live, they used for cruel experiments, one of them being a fabricated virus. While the virus would've likely had the desired effect on any other being, my magic protected me. It sacrificed the light and life it held, and as a result my magic changed. It became dark, and violent to a degree that our magic never was before."

At my explanation Thor stumbles into a chair behind him, his mouth gaping in disbelief. Tony had gone from being pale, to genuinely looking regretful for his quip aimed at my race. "And while my magic changed, so did I. I don't particularly feel like going down memory lane, especially not for something that happened thousands of years ago, but it's safe to say that I didn't come out unscathed while also becoming the last of my kind."

At that, Tony sat up straighter in his chair. "You said you didn't go unchanged. What does that mean?" At this point they were all looking at me with veiled curiosity, and I couldn't help the self-deprecating laugh that escaped my lips.

"The virus was meant to ravage planets to lower their own casualties before landing on the planet with their military, and it would do that by essentially turning the population into what you humans fondly refer to as zombies. As you can all see, I'm not a frenzied monster looking to devour your meat. It did make me hunger for something, but what I crave is far more liquidy and red in nature- As I say that, I flash elongated canine teeth at them showing them my fangs.

"Believe it or not, I'm the reason for stories about vampires here on earth. They can all be traced back to me in some way, be that someone who actually encountered me, or just taking inspiration from others who did. I'm Dracula I suppose." While I chuckled at the end, it was clear from the faces of those gathered in the room that it wasn't a pleasant sound. Before I can even react to it, I'm pulled into a hug while being lifted into the air. Had I been human, I would've absolutely broken bones.

Looking down at my wholesome assailant, I come face to face with Thor whose eyes shine with sympathy. "You didn't deserve this Lady Aelevea. If you're ever hungry, come to me and I'll help you." His words make my eyes go wide at the sincerity in them, and based on how everyone else is staring at him I suspect they didn't expect this from him either. Who can blame them, it usually takes a special kind of kink to offer what he did so freely, out of nothing but the goodness of his heart.

When I'm finally down on the ground again, I turn to face the others with a serious frown. "I only told all of you this for the sake of you knowing what I can do in a fight, so don't for a moment think I trust any of you. Well, except Thor and Steve. I've only known Thor and Steve for thirty minutes, but if anything happened to them I'd kill everyone in this room and then myself."

My face is totally deadpan, and while I wouldn't actually do that, seeing the way their bodies stiffen up is worth it. Especially with how bashful Steve looks at getting called out, while Thor is just smiling like a doped up golden retriever.

We're brought out of the tense silence, and turning towards the sound I'm met with the blank face of Maria Hill, Fury's right hand woman, along with a scrawny looking guy that I don't particularly recognize. "If we're not interrupting anything, I'd like to introduce all of you to Dr. Bruce Banner." Looking at the man, I have the feeling that things here are about to become scientific in this room, and while I wouldn't mind that on any other day, this entire boyband situation is already getting old.

"I'm out of here, let me know when we've located the tesseract. I'll go and harass Loki or something." Not giving them a chance to reply, I use my unnatural speed to zip out of the room with a small blast of wind.

Natasha PoV

"What… Just happened?" The confusion in Bruce's voice is obvious, and I can't exactly blame him. The last thirty minutes have been an absolute roller-coaster, and Aelevea was absolutely a manic presence in the room. She went from joking about Fury, to full on blasting Tony with her dark shadow magic. Something even I didn't know existed until she entered this room. "I honestly don't know." Steve sounded both amazed, and as if he was going through an existential crisis. Knowing him, he probably was.

I'll be honest, making this chapter wasn't something I planned. I only intended to make the prologue as a small test to see what everyone thought, and before I knew it I was writing chapter 1.

I absolutely need y'alls opinion on this one though, because I'm not entirely certain how it turned out. It's definitely not my best work I'll admit, but I also don't know if it's terrible so let me know what you think.
