It was a nice quiet night picking herbs. Crickets were chirping, There was a cold breeze, you could hear the trees sway, and loved the stars twinkling in the sky.

You loved going out to pick herbs for medicines, Tamayo liked to encourage me not to go alone but you insisted you were fine.

You liked leaving the house and enjoying silence since yushiro was very chaotic when it came to Tamayo, and besides when he came along he just lectured about how dangerous it was to go out alone.

You hummed a quiet song only adding to the peaceful aura around you, it's a shame you were a demon.

You decided not to cry about your transformation and continue to live life like you would if you were human despite your demon-like traits!

You were just picking some Echinacea for a patient with a badly infected snakebite before you heard a twig snap.

You quickly uprooted the plant and placed it in the basket full of other plants such as Manuka, Thyme, Olive Leaf, Astralagus, etc.

You quickly stood up and looked around to spot the source of the sound but found nothing

You should have gone back to the house as Tamayo advised, and you knew you could be killed for your carelessness but decided to brush it off.

You continued your walk and picked some Elderberries for the patients with fevers, headaches, and joint disorders.

You grabbed a branch full of berries before reaching down to grab some of the roots to plant your own bush of Elderberries.

When you turned around you spotted a man covered in various scars in the distance

He was looking straight at you with a crazed smile, it was starting to make you uneasy.

You spotted another man with a mismatched haori walk out from behind him

You did your best to study them from afar and noticed they had a sheath on their belt and wore some sort of uniform

You decided to just continue on your way home and pray they were low-ranked enough that they couldn't tell you were a demon

As you walked down the path leading to your village the scarred slayer appears in front of you with an inhuman speed

???: "Where do you think you're going?" He said with a serious look

Y/n: "My family sent me to get herbs and now I'm going to return to them." You calmly stated emphasizing the Going

You ducked and barely avoided being beheaded by the second slayer only to be attacked by the first

You narrowly miss being sliced in half but end up with a small cut across your stomach

The cut is small enough to heal fast enough you thought to yourself as you dodged another swing from the second one

???: "Or what, Gonna throw your basket at me? I can tell your weak and lack in strength that most demons have!" The scarred slayer antagonized

Y/n: "Blood demon art, Bloodstained ropes." You spoke smoothly

You watched with satisfaction as blood poured from your arm before solidifying and binding the one with a mismatched Haori

Before he could react he was thrown up and hanging from the tree with his sword out of reach

The scarred one tensed up at the sight of his coworker tied up in a tree

Using the temporary distraction without a second to waste you crouched low before harshly kicking his chin causing him to lose balance

Before he could regain focus you hit nervous pressure points all along his body to temporarily render him unable to move

When he fell over you crawled on top of him before placing a hand on his forehead

You used your blood demon art to control the blood vessels in his body before forcing him to pass out after the sound of a click

You stood up carefully making sure you didn't wake him up before speaking again

Y/n: "You have a sword on you right?" You spoke to the conscious slayer.

You smiled as he nodded his head, you slid the sheath and sword off of the unconscious slayer before saying

Y/n: "Good because I don't want you to be defenseless against my kind."

You look down at the scarred slayer and saw a small cut on his arm before reaching down to grab it

You heard the other one start to struggle at the sight of you holding his bloody arm

Y/n: "Relax! Tell your friend to be more careful since he is Marechi and his blood is a homing beacon for demons."

You placed your hand next to the wound and just watched your blood art help weave his skin back together

Y/n: "My powers are limited so he should be healed but he will have scarred tissue left behind." Was all you said before walking off, once you were out of sight the slayer was released

The second he was released the slayer retrieved his sword before hoisting up his unconscious comrade and carrying him to a nearby wisteria house

Giyuu had already killed the demon they were sent to look for but before he could inform Sanemi he spotted you

Y/n sees Tamayo as a mother and Yushiro as an annoying older brother

Sanemi was watching you pick herbs for 15 minutes before making an appearance

The author loves plants and medicine so she is really happy that she learned about a few new species tonight and what medicine they were used for :D
