Final selection

You were handed a wisteria patterned outfit by Shinobu before being sent out to final selection

The walk was quiet and peaceful and you enjoyed it since it was the first time in a while you were allowed to go out by yourself

You had a bag strapped to your waist filled with all sorts of medicinal herbs and a pouch attached to your leg filled with syringe needles

You kept walking until you made it to an area surrounded by trees before spotting the Kakushi that was supposed to carry you inside

Without a word exchanged you climbed into the box on his back and covered your mouth a nose until you made it across

You carefully climbed out and stood in the center with the Kakushi behind you since he had to carry you in

You looked around to see many other slayers and all of them were staring at you some even drawing their blades

They looked like a pack of hungry wolves getting ready to circle their next meal

Before any of them could make a move you heard the voices of Kagaya's daughters

Daughters: "Please do not attack the demon in the wisteria patterned kimono, she is under the protection of the corps and here to participate in final selection."

You relaxed and calmed down slightly at the thought of Kagaya making it possible for you to participate without being harmed

You did however hear one of the slayers charge straight at you with his sword drawn

You partied with your own sword before using your legs to sweep his out from under him

You sheathed your sword before holding out a hand to help him up which he rudely slapped and stormed away

You were told there would be those that reject the idea of you becoming a slayer but it didn't mean it wouldn't hurt when they did

You watched silently as the slayer walked back to where he was

???: "Hello, I'm Kamado Tanjiro!" He announced sticking his hand out for you to shake

You shook it happy to see someone that wasn't against your very existence

Y/n: "I'm Y/n, and yes I am unfortunately." You said looking at the ground when you said you were a demon

Tanjiro: "I'm glad that there are good demons out there and I joined to try and find a cure!"

Your eyes sparkled with excitement from his statement

You grabbed both of his hands

Y/n: "Me two, Me and my family are looking for a cure so we can turn demons into humans!" You yelled smiling brightly

Tanjiro: "Well then let's work together! If I find out anything I will tell you!"

Y/n: "We decided that we would start by examining the blood cells of that man's blood to try and figure things out from there!"

You were shaking with pure excitement since you had someone to talk to about this, Yushiro normally didn't like talking to much about this with you because you would just go on and on explaining the science behind it

Before you could begin getting into the complicated stuff the girls spoke once more

They started to explain what happens in final selection but before that the Kakushi pulled you in close

Kakushi: "On the seventh day I will come back here to pick you up and bring you out, meet me near the exit!"

You nodded before he placed the box in front of you waiting for you to step in

The ride was fast and short and before you knew it you were dumped on the ground and saw the Kakushi quickly run off

You stood up and brushed yourself off before stepping into the forest

You heard and followed the sound of a scream and found a demon sitting on the boy that attacked you earlier

Y/n: "Poison breathing, seed of a Foxglove" you spoke as you stabbed the demon in the heart

You kicked the demon off the boy before the poison could spread and transfer to him

You watched the demon as Foxglove flowers sprout from his chest, you saw that he started to drool before having a seizures

Y/n: "No drooling, no seizures, and no pupil dilation. You don't feel nauseous do you?" You said grabbing his hand

???: "T-Thank you..." he stuttered out clearly afraid of you

You watched him grab his sword and run like his life depended on it

You turned around to see the demons body twitching and all light in his eyes gone, you looked at his hand and noticed he started to disintegrate

It seems this demon wasn't strong enough to withstand the death Side effects of the poison

You continued walking along ready for anything that was coming next
