??? POV

I finally finished some paperwork and was wandering in the dark hallways of the Abyss. 'How much longer do I have to wait to get my small jackal into my arms.'

I continued to go down the halls, fantasizing about Cyno patrolling down the halls just waiting to be ambushed by love and affection. "Hell, maybe even a kid or two of our own, maybe Collie if I'm lucky," I murmured as I pulled out a photo from my pocket.

"Prince!" My eyes shot back up as I looked face to face with a nervous dendro abyss mage.

 "Did you finish your task?"

"Umm...about that...," The mage trailed off, looking to the side. "The letter may have gotten to the General of-"

"What." I could feel my anger and frustration rolling off me in waves as I scowled at the small mage, unsheathing my sword.

"Well, the forest ranger-!" The abyss mage didn't even get to finish his excuse before he was diced and on the floor. I walked away to my living quarters and turned to a small shrine. I looked at the photo of my beloved blankly before placing it down to join the others, whispering, "No one deserves you, yet I am the only one most suitably for you."

The desolate desert. The land where the Nile River used to flow, rich as milk and honey, became desolate. The resentment towards the gods grew by the day.

Under the sovereignty of Seth, the God of War, war and pillaging became widespread, and murder turned into a game to those with power.

The caravans that used to bring prosperity to Egypt in the past now worked in Seths shadow, selling woman and children. The innocent humans the caravans offered up to Seth were brutally slaughtered as a source of entertainment.

In the ring, four women were shaking in fear as they prepared to die at the face of their opponent. They knew they could not win against him, but they would try their damn hardest to survive.

In the front a woman carried a shield and dagger, the lady next to her hid behind a shield crouched down. The third carried a spear and shield, while the last was wielding a scimitar and shield.

Their competitor wore a blue falcon mask and gold chest piece, wrists adorned with gold wristbands.  A cloth skirt(?) was secured around his waist and he held his sword tightly in his hand.

"I do not kill women."

The females in the arena were shocked by the male's words. He was talking back to the God of War for Ra's sake, but they were grateful for the chance to live another day. They started to inch out of the arena as Seth called out, "Why's that?"

"Because I have no need to slay helpless women."

There were a few moments of silence before Seth facepalmed and sighed. "Ah... I told them to bring me someone ruthless. Instead, they choose to bring me another wimp. Especially today of all days."

Seth looked up leaning forward-slightly agitated-his masked eyes seemingly glaring holes into the falcon.

"Hey, Moron. If you wanted to die, you should've just committed suicide. Why'd you come all the way here? Huh?"

"..."

"You're not going to answer?"

"..."

Seth sighed as he leaned back in his chair annoyed at the inconvenience, especially since he was expecting someone to show soon.

"Wow... I must seem soft these days. A mere HUMAN is ignoring me." He side-eyed a small black-haired boy and did a hand motion. "Hey, get over there and do away with him."

The boy puts down his fan and retrieves his sword before stepping into the arena. There's a pause before the maskless male swings at the falcon.

You gazed at the scene watching two kids fight in disappointment, the hot desert air making platinum locks of hair whip around you.

"Cyno, what's going on," murmured Tighnari as the falcon lunged at the black haired boy.

"A fight."

"CYNO!"

You sighed, "I assume that this is the festival that we've been invited to. Knowing him though this was probably to be expected."

A small gasp escaped Collies lips as the falcon chopped off a section of the others ear and pushed him into a wall. The falcon stood over him in victory.

'But why have people kill women for entertainment? Why not criminals or war enemies?' Your eyes narrowed, trying to put all the pieces together to come to a conclusion.

"My, oh my. You've got skills for a pigeon." Seth mocked as he leaned his head into his hands. A shadow of a figure appeared behind him, immediately catching your attention as you reached for your polearm.

"I'm a falcon."

Your attention turned to Collie who is trying to get to the arena. You assumed that it was to heal the boy. You put a hand on her shoulder stopping her from leaving as tighnari relayed the situation. "There's someone sneaking around and we can't get into this mess quite yet. Be patient and wait for the right time."

"It's been a while, Seth."
