I was waiting for my carpools mom mrs yamada, I was waiting with Bruce and we were playing hot hands and I kept getting him
"OK OK OW" Bruce winces "I'm done"
I laugh and shrug pulling out a pack of cherry gum offering Bruce a piece
He accepts and we both sit there awkwardly waiting for is mom

"So you coming to my baseball game today?" Bruce asks

"Sure I guess" I say confused he's never asked me to before "why you asking now anyway" I ask obviously confused

"Oh well I'm playing finneys team and aren't you two like a thing" Bruce replies awkwardly

Uh why would he think I'm dating finney I barley knew finney existed until today

"Uh hm" is all I managed to get out of my mouth

Bruce moms pulls up and we both get in not talking driving all the way back to our houses
