The door opened and a very tall man in his late forties opened the door, the man had an almost red glint to his bright amber like brown eyes and his skin was a deep almost indian tan as his black hair was cut short and he wore a black suit and tie with a dark crimson shirt. "hello, you must be the foster child and the case worker he said, his voice was calm but almost like he was soft spoken as he let us into the house, it felt warm and homely, but the air of the house itself was cold. He closed the door behind us with a soft click, the front entrance was rather grand and large, the house had gray and white marble floors and a large curved mahogany staircase that led to a second floor. He led us to the room off from the main entrance, it was warm the fire was going though it was summer and it was about eighty seven degrees out but he was not sweating at all. the room held two leather couches, two leather chairs, a large long wooden desk was against the wall under the window facing the street, the curtains, though thick and dark in color were pulled back allowing the mid day light to shine through.

A girl sat in one of the chairs in front of a burning fire though, pardon my guest my nephews, he stopped at the word for who she was, she stood up, she was taller than me and i was five foot six, she stood closer to six feet if she wasn't taller, she was model pretty, more like super model pretty i thought, she was graceful as she walked over to Mr Renee. Her eyes were a mixture of aquamarine blue and sapphire blue, they were bright and clear, but something lurked beneath them, something that was not intelligence, her hair was long reaching easily to her lower back and was the color of snow, surprising considering she looked to be about fifteen or sixteen. Thought her skin was a flawless pearl white that seemed to fit her perfectly. She stopped in front of me. she wore a white long-sleeved blouse and a royal blue skirt that stopped just below her knees and had an intricate silver bracelet on her wrist. She walked over to me stopping about five feet from me, and extended her hand.

"Cassandra Crassus." She said to me flatly. extending her hand to me. her eyes seemed to peer through my light brown eyes and into my soul.

"Mary Porter." I said to her grasping her hands. though her hand was almost ice cold and i almost snapped my hand back at the shock of it being so cold.

"My nephew's wife." Cato said finding the right words.

She let go of my hand and turned slightly to look at Mr. Renee, "thank you for the tea Cato, i'll be going, you need to attend to this and i am sure marcus would prefer that i am home." she said with almost chilling respect and clarity. He nodded at her words as she walked by us opened the door and left.

Cassandra's Perspective:

as i closed the door to Cato's house i walked down the steps. i reached into my pocket and pulled out my necklace, i still wasn't used to my new body yet i thought, but then again having your soul fused to someone else was never done before i thought. the necklace i thought looking at it. something like this will never be ever made or remade i thought and not because the necklace was older than most extinct civilizations.

the necklace was made of gold with larger segments made of thicker gold that were embedded with rubies, or sapphires, the middle piece held a large shard of an emerald, all the stones were the size of a pearl but the emerald was special as it was the same shade as my husbands eyes, i put the necklace around my neck, my new body was not used to the weight of it but i was used to it. i walked just out of range from the window of cato's living room and took another step and stepped somewhere else in the world as I stood in front of a massive castle.home sweet home i though i think is what normal people say.
