"For love is no part of the Dreamworld. Love belongs to Desire, and desire is always cruel." - Neil Gaiman
Finally the day is over.
I walked to my locker, to find Bruce.
He was leaning against my locker casually, probably not even knowing he looks so sexy.
"Sup Stacelene." Bruce said with smiled smile.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "I told you not to call me that Bruce." I said through gritted teeth.
"I like your name it's cute." He pouted.
"It's not, I sound like somebody's grandmother." "Your such a drama queen." "Yeah, Yeah."
"Let's go to the field today."
"You are so random sometimes. Can you give me a heads up before you blurt things out?" Bruce chuckled. "Yeah what ever. But no smoking when we get there okay?" I stopped."I'm sorry what? Did you just say no smoking?"
"Yeah."
"Why? You don't like me smoking?" I asked slightly offended. I've been smoking around since we met What's the problem now?
"Not that you can't do what you want." He coolly. "Just sometimes I like it better when your sober." He shrugged.
And I could've sworn I seen his ears turn red.
I was lost for words.
I didn't see much of a difference from when I'm high vs. when I'm not.
But I guess he did, the thought makes my stomach turn.
"Okay. No smoking." He smiled.
It was a 30 minute drive to the field and it was much more beautiful than the last time we came here.
It was night and dark but now it's sunny and you can see each and every flower.
Bruce bent over and picked up a flower, then held it out to me. "It's beautiful. Just like you." He said while rubbing soft circles on my cheek.
I became lost in his moon like eyes. Then everything stopped. Bruce started leaning in, getting closer and closer.
My breathing stopped. We were so close to each other that I could feel his breathe on my neck. Gosh Why does he have to make me feel this way!
I wanted him to kiss me. I really did. And he was leaning in to do so but I couldn't. I just couldn't let that happen.
"Bruce." I said before he could go any farther.
Bruce coughed. "Right, I'm sorry. Too close." I nodded.
I hated hiding my feelings but he's the one who said I was practically only a friend. I question it now though because friends don't want to kiss friends.
The silence became unbearable, so I said the only thing on my mind at the moment.
"I have a date tomorrow night." Bruce raised his eyebrows at me then continued looking out at the field.
I wasn't gonna hide it from him.
"Oh really? With who?" "Danny, the boy from the party." I said shyly. "Oh, that guy."
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Why do you say it like that?" "No reason." Liar.
"Well, he asked me while walking me to class, and I didn't see a reason as to why I should say no, so I said Yes." I said, my voice getting higher.
I wasn't making this better.
Something shifted in Bruce, he seemed tense.
"I don't see one either." He agreed. Hopefully he understood what I meant.
Bruce stayed quiet looking straight ahead.
Then it was like someone switched on a light, and the tension was gone.
He turned to me and smiled.
"I guess you need someone to help you look for an outfit right?" Giving me his signature smile.
Something tells me there isn't something right about his tone, it was too cheery.
But he didn't seem upset, so I don't see any problems.
