"That's the thing about freewill: Every decision we make is a choice against something as much as it is for something else." - Rebecca Serle
I hate mornings. I just don't want to wake up. I've been up since last night, replaying me and Bruce's conversation.
"You've been a good... friend Stacy."
I slap myself for the thousandth time thinking of how stupid I was.
I honestly don't know why I feel stupid, it's not like I had told him my feelings anyways but I can't help but feel stupid.
School. I groaned.
I looked at my phone, it was 6:30. I had time to spare, so I decided to smoke and listen to music.
I rolled my blunt then put on some music by Birdy. I honestly love her music it moves me in several ways.
15 minutes later I was definitely blasted.
Time for a shower. Showers always make me relaxed. I washed my body and hair, shaved my legs and other body parts. I turned off the hot water, then reached for my towel. It wasn't there. It wasn't anywhere in the bathroom.
Shit!
It was okay, I would just walk to my room.
My room and bathroom were conjoined anyways. I walk out, slamming my body into something hard.
I looked up to see Bruce standing in front of me , my towel in his hand. And he was smirking.
I gasped, "BRUCE!! What are you doing here?! And Why do you have my towel?!" I shouted, my face completely red.
"I heard you were in the shower and noticed you left your towel in your room. I was just about to knock on your bathroom door to give it to you but-"
His eyes scanned my whole body up and down before they met mine again.
"You sort of beat me to it." He gave me his famous smirk.
I was in complete shock.
Bruce just checked out my naked body.
All of it.
I shook my head then quickly grabbed then wrapped it around my cold wet body wishing I grabbed it sooner.
"How did you even get in? My mom isn't even home." I crossed my arms.
"I figured that when no one answered the door." He chuckled.
"I climbed your ladder then came in through the window. It was still open since last night." I frowned at the thought of last night.
The night he friend zoned me.
That's when I noticed how close we were. He was centimeters away from my face.
"Oh." Was all I managed to say.
We were so close I could feel his hot breathe on my wet skin.
"You smell really good, like green apples." He said in a low voice.
Almost a whisper. Bruce brought his fingers up to my face dragging it all the way down from my neck to my shoulders, making my spine shiver.
"Your so beautiful." He whispered in my ear. My eyes widened, full of admiration. I didn't say anything, we didn't say anything.
I was giving in. After what he what he said last night, I was giving in.
I coughed, then took a step back. "I should go get dressed."
Looking down at my still naked body. He nodded, eyes filled with lust.
"Yeah, were going to be late."
I locked myself into the bathroom trying to adjust what just happened. And he has a nerve to say we're only friends.
I got dressed then stepped out the bathroom, there was no sign of Bruce.
Maybe he's making food.
I walk downstairs to see Bruce looking at old family photos.
"Is this your Dad?" I nodded.
"Yeah, he's been in the army ever since I was a baby."
"And he's never wanted to stop?" I frowned at his words. He was right.
My father never once talked about coming home for good.
The longest he's been home was about 10 months but that's it. He's always on and off.
Bruce noticed my silence, "Stacy I didn't mean it like that I just wanted to know." His head down.
I put a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay. I've never really thought about that until now actually." I smiled. "Let's go, we're going to be late."

We pulled to the school, a little after 9. Bruce walked me to my locker, "So I'll see you at lunch."
"Okey Dokey." Then he walked off.
"Raven?" I froze at my nickname, who in the world goes here and knows about my nickname too?
I turned around to find the boy from Bruce's party.
"Danny right?" "Yeah, I'm surprise you even remembered." He chuckled.
"Since when do you go here?" "Since freshmen year." My face began to burn up.
"Sorry, I don't really notice people here." This felt like the day I met Bruce.
"I don't know, I'm kind of quiet here, so you wouldn't have noticed me any way." "Me too." I said looking down. There was a silent pause. A little awkwardness in the air.
"So can I walk you to class?" "Sure." We started walking to my classroom.
"So Raven, I wanted to know if you would go out on a date with me this Friday." Danny said quickly.
Woah. I didn't expect that.
"I-i was gonna call you earlier, but I asked Benjii like you said and he didn't want t-to give it to me." My mind flew back to the party.
It made sense why he didn't want to.
"Yes." I smiled. I mean why not? It would be a great distraction from Bruce.
He didn't have the same feelings anyway, even though he was completely messing with my head this morning.
Danny sighed with relief, his nervousness was cute.
"What time?" "How's 7:30?" "Sounds great! Here's my number so you won't have to go through Benjii again." We laughed.
"Yeah, he was so stubborn I just decided to ask you myself." "Well I'm glad you did, see you tomorrow night."
I gave him a flirtatious smile the walked into class.
I don't know what I'm doing, and it's not going to be fair to Danny.
But this is my decision and I'm going to stand by it.
