madelyn stands at her bathroom sink, humming quietly to herself as she rubs moisturizer on her face. it's only 8:30, but madelyn just wants to sleep. the past 12 days have been nothing more than draining. she just needs a rest.
'she's mine, pt 1' by j. cole plays softly in the background and it makes madelyn think of elijah. what was going on with that? she isn't sure. she hasn't spoke to elijah in two days. it's the longest they've ever gone. she'd be lying if she didn't say she's been thinking about him. a lot.
she misses him. despite all the fights they've been in, she still misses him. elijah knows her like no one else does and it's honestly surprising to her that she hasn't had a full blown meltdown yet. she's been distrating herself with people that she finds as good company. like matt. matt.
matt is sweet. madelyn likes that about him. he is very open about the way that he cares and she knows that she would be a mess about the situation if he wasn't so understanding. he's a great friend. madelyn enjoys hanging with him and his brothers. or just him.
but elijah. elijah. her boyfriend. or.. ex boyfriend? madelyn doesn't know. all that she knows is, elijah comes back in two days. once those two days are up, it'll be time for them to actually talk. madelyn is scared about what would happen. the fights are already bad over the phone. what about when they're face-to-face?
madelyn rolls her eyes at the thought. elijah has always been a pain in the ass but he has been an even bigger one these past couple of weeks. when would he come to his senses?
madelyn sighs and grabs her phone off the bathroom sink. she shuts the light off and walks out of the bathroom. her plan is to go downstairs, make a cup a tea, and fall asleep to nick@nite reruns. the plan is quickly disrupted though when she hears her apartment door open.
