Heather's POV
Usually I have trouble sleeping but last night when I dived into bed, I was out cold.
Glancing at the clock, I was shocked that it was 11:30 am. I never oversleep. I scrambled out of bed and scurried to the shower.
I tried not to take too long, and in less than 10 minutes, I was out. I dug in my bag to look for my usual outfit but I stopped.
A frown formed on my face as I turned around. The sun's rays fell on me, the sound of the waves rolling in and you could hear the faint sound of the seagulls squawking.
I can't wear what I usually wear. Today felt...different. It felt like something was going to happen. Something big. Butterflies were swarming in my stomach so I knew that it would be good.
Searching my bag again, I got out a knee length, sunset yellow sundress with sunflowers stitched on it. I reached out for my makeup kit but I stopped.
No, I won't put makeup. I'll go as myself today- my true self.
I let tied up hair loose and it fell on my shoulders. I put on my sandals and I walked to the full body length mirror.
I gasped as I peered at the reflection. The dress clung onto my waist like a torso but fell freely beyond my waist. My hair complimented my eyes since they are both black and I was glad I didn't need to emphasize them with the makeup. My hand rested on my hip and there was one thing clear in my mind.
I should be a model.
Satisfied with how I look, I went out to go for breakfast- or should I say brunch since it was nearly noon. Luckily for me, I wasn't the only one who was late.
Jose was seated on one end of the table, sipping some orange juice. There was no trace of my sister or Alejandro which surprised me- not Alejandro, Hilda. My sister Hilda is one of the people in this world who believe in beauty sleep, so at home the average time she would wake up was at 2 pm unless something came up like a photo shoot or something of the sort.
I joined Jose as I collapsed into a sit with a sigh. Jose gave me a small smile as he acknowledged my presence.
"Hello Heather," Jose greeted.
"Morning- wait," I glanced at my watch to see that it was 11:55 am. "Yes morning Jose,"
Jose chuckled and I joined in.
"You look very beautiful today," Jose complimented.
"Thanks," I said, attacking my stack of pancakes decorated with whipped cream and maple syrup trickling down them.
Yes I know I'm supposed to watch my carbs, especially at this show since Chris is treating us but I swear, I could hear those pancakes calling my name and I gave in to the temptation.
The mere sight of them made my mouth water and one bite just made me surrender. They were soft, not to soft though, and chewy. They tasted fantastic with the whipped cream and maple syrup, it was the perfect combination.
I didn't care about me not looking ladylike in front of Jose because these pancakes were to die for. Jose watched me, his eyes tinkling with amusement as he shook his head but his lips twitching.
"You are an interesting person Heather," Jose cocked an eyebrow, amusement crystal clear on his face.
"I know I am an interesting person," I replied cockily, after gulping my juice.
"You remind me of Alejandro," Jose's expression quickly changed. "Speaking of which, there is something I should tell you about him,"
That made me freeze in my tracks and my ears perk up, my mouth stuffed with a pancake.
