chapter eight

Third Person's POV

"Remember what I told you to do, when we get there?" Brian asks Britney as she is still squeezing his hand over every bump that he is going over.

"Stay in the car." Britney mumbles under her breath, as Brian nods his head before he poked her nose.

They make it to the Toretto household before Leon and Letty take off to who knows where. Dom decides to go find Jesse after arguing with Desireè about her going with him, because he didn't want her to get hurt.

"Dom, put the gun down now!" Desireè hears Brian yell.

"Move your car." Dom yells back.

"No bullshit! Put it down now! No more running!" Brian yells at him.

"I'm not running!" Dom yells.

"Where's Leon and Letty?" Brian asks him as Britney watches the scene in front of her as he is covering her ears even if it's not really working that much.

""They're long gone!" Dom tells him.

"Then it's over. I didn't call the police, but don't push me! Put the gun down. I swear to God!" Brian yells as they walk towards each other.

"You are the cop! You're a cop! Brian, I got to find Jesse before they do. I'm all the kids got." Dom tells Brian as Mia and Desi walk out onto the front porch.

"I'll call in the plates. PD will pick him up way before Johnny even gets near him." Brian says causing Desireè to sigh.

"Move your car." Dom says as he cocks his shotgun.

"Dom, stop it! It's over. Please." Desireè yells at him.

"Desireè stay out of this!" Dom yells back as the Jetta pulls up.

"Jesse!" Desireè says before running over to him and hugging him. "Dominic, I am so sorry. I don't know what I'm doing, Dom." Jesse says as he lets go of Desireè as Dom drops his shotgun as Brian lowers his own gun too. "I'm so scared right now. I don't know what's going on."

"What were you thinking, man?" Dom asks him.

"I don't know! I panicked! I'm sorry. I'm scared. I don't know what I'm doing! Will you please help me?" Jesse says Dom, Desireè, Brian and Britney all turn their heads at the sound of motorcycles.

Tran and his cousin Lance start shooting at them causing Brian to duck behind his car, as Britney hides in the car. Desireè ducks behind the Jetta as Mia ducks on the porch while Dom crawls across the yard towards Jesse and Desi who stands there.

"No! Jesse!" Desireè yells as she sees Jesse get shot multiple times, as she felt something in her stomach, as she too fell down.

"Dom! Desireè! Jesse!" Mia yells from the front porch. As they drive off, Dom pulls Jesse into his arms while Mia runs from the porch. Mia drops beside Desi and brings her niece into her arm. Brian looks at everyone before he gets into his car and gets Britney situated before he takes off after Tran and Lance.

"No, Dom, no!" Mia yells as Dom runs to his car and takes off.

"Okay, Brit, I need you to listen to everything I say. Now's not the time to question. Grab the gun and when I tell you try to shoot at Tran and Lance. But don't miss." Brian tells her even though they all sound like orders, as Britney grabs her father's gun, and holds it tightly in her hand waiting for him to tell her to shoot.

"Got it Dad." Britney says as she cocks the gun, a she takes a deep breath.

Brian hits his first NOS to make sure that he catches up to them before they start shooting at him, well Britney too. But mainly him. Britney is able to shoot at them but misses. "Dang it." Britney says after she misses.

"Keep on shooting." Brian says as he continues to speed up as Lance cuts off down a hill before coming back up behind Brian. Dom comes out of nowhere and slams into Lance which sends him flying down a hill. Tran starts firing at Britney before Brian comes to a stop and Britney shoots at Train hitting him. Brian runs over to see if Tran is alive before Dom show up at the top of a hill.

Brian finds Dom stopped at a red light as Britney gets back into her seat and buckles up. Knowing that everything isn't over yet.

"We used to drag here back in high school. That railroad crossing up there is exactly a quarter a mile away from here. On green, I'm going for it." Dom says before him and Brian start revving their engines.

The light turns green as Dom takes off in a wheelie. "Woah, Dommie is flying. Oh wait cars don't fly." Dom quickly gets in front of Brian as Dom touches the ground again. Brian has to use his NOS to keep up with them. Britney sees a train up ahead before looking over at Dom who simply doesn't stop as he speeds up. Britney looks at her father who is looking straight at the road as she leans back. "I'm going to die. I'm going to die."

Brian hits his second NOS and he and Dom jump the track just missing getting hit by the train. Dom and Brian look at each other and smile before Dom runs into a semi-truck causing him to start flipping. The car stops flipping straight up.

"Dom!" Brian yells as he gets out of the car with Britney following in suit. Brian and Brit find Dom breathing heavily.

"That's not what I had in mind." Dom says before he gets out of the car with a messed up shoulder.

"So what was the plan you had in mind?" Britney asks as Brian just looked at her before he looked back at Dom. As he leans against the car in defeat as they hear sirens in the distance.

Brian pulls his keys out of his pocket and hands them to Dom as Britney's mouth gaped open at seeing what her father just had done. "Dad are you crazy?" Britney asks her father.

"You know what you're doing?" Dom asks him as he takes the keys from Brian.

"I owe you a 10-second car." Brian answers before Dom nods his head at Brian.

Dom takes the car and goes off as Brian watches him drive off before he turns to Britney. "Yes. I am crazy." Brian says as Britney grins, before turning to wait for the cops.
