chapter thirty

The past few weeks after everything that happened, for now everyone went on their separate ways the farthest ones being Tyler and Tej in Miami, as they want to hang around there for a while. Marilyn and Roman have been in Barstow, as Mari has gotten back into 'dirt racing', as Lindsey and her father Luke have been in Los Angeles also with Samantha Hobbs which is Lindsey's cousin and Luke's niece. The Toretto crew have been living at Joe's place for the time being while their house is being repaired after Deckard sent that bomb. Desiree has called dibs on the basement mainly because that can be her alone space, when she needs it. Dom, Letty and Marcus have the guest bedroom which is in the attic. Mia and Brian's place is across town in a little quieter place for the time being. Jack met Britney which went better than everyone thought it would. He was happy that he now has an older sister. Britney didn't know what to do when Jack wanted to be picked up but she picked him up either way, but she felt weird doing it.

Everyone is all doing good in their own separate lives, as Britney has been adjusting for the past couple weeks. They've all been patient with her when she doesn't remember certain things that they do. Roman's been picking on her which annoys her to say the least, but it's fine, it's something that she has to deal with. Unfortunately.

"Dada." Jack says as he walks down the stairs with Mia and behind her is a zombified Britney who feels like a walking zombie but a teenager version. "Something is wrong with sissy." He says pointing to her sleepy state as she looks like she'll pass out on the stairs as Brian looks up to see his daughter. He took in her features, her hair looks like a rats nest, her pajama shirt is messed up as one of her pajama pants is up and the other one is down. It looks like the typical Britney that he knew, when she first woke up.

"He's the one who..." Britney says with a long yawn before continuing what she was saying. "Woke me uupp." She says with another yawn which makes Jack giggle at his sister.

"She isn't a morning person buddy." Mia says to her son as he ran to where his toys are as Britney walked down the stairs taking her father's coffee in the process without saying a word.

"Mia, she stole my coffee." Brian says as he went to the kitchen to make another one for himself that Britney won't take, as Mia walked towards him as she kissed his cheek.

"PDA, people, there are children around for Jesus sake." Britney says which makes Brian and Mia smile at the girl as they both remember during the whole Rio thing that every time that they would kiss each other, if Britney was around she'd say that more than once. They'd just do it just to annoy her which it still does, as she's been saying that for the past three weeks, now. Which just makes them smile.

Britney walked to the living room, and grabbed the remote and switched through the channels to find something good to watch. When she got to one of the many new channels in LA, a news report caught her attention.

"Brett William Shaw the son of Owen Shaw and nephew of Deckard Shaw had escaped from the maximum prison where him and his uncle have been at. Reports say that he's on the run again, running from his problems and is after a certain O'Conner, named Britney. The daughter of Brian O'Conner." The reporter says as Britney immediately switched the channels so fast it was like lightning.

"Why'd you change it so fast?" Brian asked his daughter as he sat beside her. She took a sip of her Dad's coffee that she had stolen.

"Some boring news report, about lost puppies." Britney lied straight through her teeth, to cover up the fact that the news report was about Brett and her, well more like Brett escaped from prison and is after her. But she isn't stupid enough to say that, but thank the Gods her father believed her.
