Chapter 01 Wei Ying

Thump, thump, thump, the sound coming from the toy drum that a dirty kid dressed in rug clothes never fails to make him smile despite sitting at a cold cemented floor on a corner alley somewhere in Yilling.

Wei Ying just to let you know he was not abandoned by will or intentional. His mother is a strong rogue cultivator, while his father is used to be a Sect Leader's right-hand.

The three of them were living happily as they're roaming the world, not settling in one place.

But during a certain Night-Hunting, his parents has been perished. At that time his parents knew how dangerous the task is, so they've decided to leave little Wei Ying on an inn.

But they no longer come back...

In truth his parents left a huge amount of money in the inn that should've cover his stay for at least two months. But just a week after hearing their doom, the inn owner kicked out Wei Ying without giving back his parents' money.

Six months have already passed.

His stomach growl in hunger, he stuffs his toy inside his lapel and stand up, ready to search for food. But how will he able to get food without money? It's either steal or search in garbage; thankfully he always chose the latter. Yet, it's not every day he could find food in trash at least in ease, worst case, most of the time his rivals would come in pack; and currently Wei Ying is running away from them.

All he could do is to wail in fear as he keeps bumping on adults along the way, yet no one care.

As a child only seven years old that always blindly sprinting away, Wei Ying tends find himself getting cornered and just like now, all he could do is brace himself to the incoming bites from the dogs.

He closes his eyes, has his body stiff, hold his breath and cover his ears to not hear the angry growl from them, although it never been effective.

The growls turn into wails and light footsteps that obviously from the dogs has started going further and further away from Wei Ying.

He opens his eyes when after some minutes nothing still happen to him, still with fear.

The young child blinks, relax his body, remove his hands on his ears and confusion is what written on his face, as he sees no dogs in front of him, but instead a single adult is standing not far away staring at him with wide eyes.

Call little Wei Ying a glutton but who won't eat to their fill if they haven't had a proper food for several months? Anyone would definitely eat likes there's no tomorrow.

The man who watches the young child eats shifted his attention to their spectators who are either amuse or disgust at how Wei Ying's eat, he frown and wave his hand signing them to stop watching, when it didn't work on some he give them a glare which much effective.

Going back to Wei Ying, the man stare at the amount of empty dishes towering on their table, but knowing those aren't enough yet he orders more. He doesn't care how much Wei Ying could consume cause all he cares is for Wei Ying have his fill.

But why? Why this man is so kind to Wei Ying?

It didn't take long for that question to be answer,

"A-Ying's name is Wei Ying! My A-niang is CangSe Sanren, and my A-die is Wei Changze!"

The man's eyes shone, 'That's why he looks just like CangSe Sanren!' his lips quiver, as tears are about to fall out but he sniff it back and breath at his mouth, he bit his bottom lip before turning back to the young child.
