"Empathy" is a technique that allows a cultivator to experience the past memories of a ghost or Fierce Corpse. It involves channeling a spirit to see their memories which are shared exactly as experienced, with emphasis on emotional state and feelings

Not all cultivators could use Empathy; it's extremely dangerous for the user, with high risk of insanity and complete bodily possession. Thus, the caster using Empathy requires a supervisor to preside over ritual, equipped with a code to pull them out of trance if evidence of possession occurs.

They been warned about this, still, each one of them practiced the Empathy in secret, once learnt all adults scolds them, yet they are proud of their dedications on everything.

As much as possible they shouldn't use the Empathy unless they have same situation as now.

There is no information about the life of Immortal Snake before the Xu Xuan Town turned into this. No one hold information that could tell them why their town was cursed nor even notice it.

In the end, O Zhangyao relies on Empathy; and now, currently, he is sitting on the grassy ground, in front of him and his brother Cong Zhuliu is an endearing sight; the lake is glistening, with many fireflies flying around, the trees and other types of plants around the lake is shining into purplish color, full of life.
