Yes, some might be just normal innocent people that got tangled by the war.

Many don’t deserved to be save.

Knights that was supposed to protect its people, abuse their authority and oppress the powerless.
Commoners who where normal citizens became greedy for power when they held a little authority and hurt their own.
Mages and priest use their power for money to hurt or protect for the ones that paid well.
No one.
None.
None of them deserved to be saved.
But.
Their are people that deserved to be saved and looked up upon.
Just like his family and people.
His father stayed for his people.
His mother wore an armour along with the knights to protect her people.
Basen, his brother organised information for the people outside the territory so they can prepare for their own battle.
And Lily, his little sister who stood tall to protect the territory along with the citizens who stood beside her, protecting their home.
His home.
His home that was burned to ash, his home with his people in it crumble like a strong marble pillar.
His asked for help but none answer.
Saying he deserves it, saying a trash like him paid for all of his sins.
None.
None of them helped him.
Even though his brother gave them information to help them, even though his father gave money for the kingdoms soldiers to have a great weapon to hold.
None of them repaid their kindness.
It’s true the sly prince sent the heroes but, they were to late.
Too late that there were no one to save other than him.
His priority is his people and his people alone.
His not a good person.
Not a saint.
Nor a hero.
