No, he couldn't just stand there, Alex had to somehow keep Morgan alive. He rushed down the city streets, causing chaos in his wake. None of it mattered, he had to get to Morgan. No matter what, he's going to see Morgan one last time.
From what Barnaby said, he wasn't dead yet. Yet. That word echoed throughout Alex's head like a desperate call for help in a canyon of despair. Yet. No, not yet. He wouldn't allow Morgan to die, heaven knows its not his time, and god damn it that time wont come until Alex lets it.
It wasn't long until he made it on scene, perks of super-speed. The blood, the un-natural contortion of the younger mans body, and the lifelessness expression. It was near too much to handle, even for the S-Tier. He'd seen worse, but not from his beloved. Not from Morgan.
For the first time in years, Alex cried. He promised he wouldn't, but the sight made it all be thrown away. Alex could've sworn he screamed, but no sound came out. There was nothing left of him, for once Alex felt powerless.
The paramedics pulled Morgan away into the ambulance, leaving only a chunk of blood-stained concrete behind. Alex stayed there for the next group of hours, too weak to move. There's nothing left for him to do except mourn, and mourn he did. He mourned day and night, staying awake until he passed out from pure exhaustion.
Alex was broken, only able to talk to one person. Barnaby, Alex's only friend left. He brought him food, comforted him when it grief was particularly brutal, and stayed with Alex for the longest nights. It helped Alex get back to doing basic activities, but the weight of Morgan's suicide still weighed heavy on his shoulder.
