Magic bullets, that's definitely new. I don't recall the game using any magic bullets. Then again, they didn't exactly specify what kind of bullets they are, so they could've very well been magic bullets and I just wouldn't have known.
Regardless, I need to know this. From the name alone, it seemed interesting.
"The military specialized magic bullets after the monster outbreak. The reason is that, unlike humans, monsters are not affected by normal bullets, or any conventional weaponry, for that matter."
Shit. They are immune to normal weaponry? The gun I have better have magic bullets, otherwise, I'm screwed.
"Magic bullets are not only effective against monsters, but they are horrifyingly effective against humans as well. Unlike conventional weaponry, a wound from a magic bullet will never heal if used against another human, regardless of the medicine one takes. As such, that means any wound, regardless of location, is lethal. Studies show that due to its properties, cells just completely stop functioning around the wound, effectively making healing impossible. However, against monsters, they are similar to normal bullets. They don't last forever. It is theorized it's because of monsters' physiology, as their bodies aren't made of cells, but rather a magical essence. This is further supported by the fact that monsters won't bleed if you hit them, instead, the wound will appear like a white void, with white particles coming off of them."
Here's something that I know. The last part, specifically. Monsters emit white particles from the wound when they are injured. Thankfully, my game knowledge isn't entirely useless.
I continued reading the book, occasionally slapping Eve's paw away when she puts it near my groin.
...
How long was I here?
I've just kept on reading the book without any care in the world, not like I'm in a place infested by monsters that want to gobble me up. Thankfully, no monster tried to enter the room.
All this time, Eve tried to get into my pants. None were successful, fortunately. Though, I'm sure she wasn't giving it her all.
Eventually, I reached the most important part.
"Most members of the facility, and most of the world that have guns, for the matter, are equipped with magic bullets. While it is a risk, as human-on-human violence is still prevalent, especially in this chaotic apocalypse, we've determined the chances of the pros outweigh the cons. Magic bullets are usually engraved with a circle seal craving."
I immediately checked the bullets, and sure enough, there was a craving just like the book described. Unconsciously, I let out a relieved sigh and put down the book. It was certainly useful. I don't know what I would've done if the bullets were just normal ones. If I met another demon that wasn't as docile as Eve with normal bullets... what would I have done? Would I have done the same thing that scientist did?
Ugh, forget it. I don't want to think about it anymore.
Instinctively, I pat Eve, who was reaching for my pants once more. She stopped what she was doing, and took out her tongue like always, panting, while I kept on head patting her. It's odd. It has only been a few hours, yet I feel like I already formed a not-so-weak bond with her. Hell, I'm even beginning to understand a bit of what she said.
Oh god, I'm slowly becoming fluent in dog language.
Maybe I could become a member of the X-Men? Probably would be the most useless X-Men possible, knowing how to communicate with dogs. What the hell would they call me? Dog master? Or Dog seducer?
Ew.
I returned the magazine back into the pistol and finally got up from the bed. I can't stay here forever, surrounded by monsters. I need to get out of here and find an actual safe place outside, somewhere, preferably with people.
