Chapter Eleven

Should I be surprised that she got pissed at my refusal? Eh, what did she expect? I'm not gonna give my soul that easily.

With a small frown, she closed her mouth. We stayed silent for a few seconds, none of us muttering a word. Granted, I don't want to say anything because this aroma will probably engulf my nervous system even more.

"It's a shame," She said, "You know, I'm surprised you managed to dodge my initial attack. Those attacks almost took my entire energy. Furthermore, I'm even more surprised you managed to stay awake in this room. This aroma calms the mind to the point most humans aren't even able to think properly, and most of them just fall asleep."

Oh? Well, It is definitely calming my mind, a bit too much, to be completely honest. Hell, I feel like sleeping a bit, which is going to be a problem if she decides to fight now.

"Oh well~"

Uh oh, that tone of hers kinda freaks me out.

"You'll fall for me, sooner or later, even if by force~"

*Rumble*

...! Shit! Here it comes!

Two more vines drilled through the ground, and appeared beside her, waiting for her command.

"I'll give you a choice, as I don't want to hurt you." She reaches her hand out, "Become one with me. Together, we'll make a beautiful flower, and eventually travel to the underworld, where our souls will forever exist there."

Doesn't really sound that compelling, lady. Was that supposed to change my mind?

Noticing my silence, the girl tsked, and simply shrugged.

"Don't say I didn't give you a choice."

*Vroom!*

Ah shit.

I took a deep breath and held it. The aroma affected my mind a bit, but it's better than constantly breathing it in.

The vines launched towards me at lightning speed. I don't have my third eye here, but fortunately, their speed is slower than before. I bit my tongue roughly and regained my focus. Fuck, this environment is going to be a bit of a problem.

Just as the vines were about to reach me, with minimal movement, I bend my body to the left, and dodged the first vine, while the second one was dodged by me simply ducking.

...Huh. Not only are they slower, but they aren't as precise as well. It's like dodging a ball being kicked toward you, as weird as that example is. A bit difficult, sure, but doable. Perhaps she really did use all of her energy. Despite their speed, they are rather thin. Sure, they are fast, but not the speed of sound fast. As such, dodging them isn't that big of a problem.

Of course, the attacks didn't stop there. The vine that I ducked suddenly strikes down on me, but just as easily, I managed to dodge by rolling further to the left.

One complaint I have is the room itself. The ground is entirely littered with vines, and I have to watch out for my footing, otherwise, I might just slip and get caught by those vines. Actually, I have another complaint, It's a bit hard to dodge while holding my breath.

The vines continue to attack me, and surprisingly, I managed to dodge all of them.

"Hmm..." The girl let out a hum, and suddenly, all the hair on my stood on their end.

Shit! Something is coming.

I turned my gaze toward her while dodging the vines, watching out for any potential attack. My hand instinctively went towards my gun, and just as I was about to pull it out, my eyes met hers.
