Lance's pov
We have been in space for a few weeks now and it started to feel like a pack away from home, as I was adopted I know the feeling. But the thing is other than Pidge and Hunk I don't know the others' ranks. Pidge and Hunk are betas but I was undetermined. Most kids are obvious but I wasn't. In the meantime I have the suppressants and scent blockers from the garrison cause they said I fluctuate. I went to the lounge and sighed "So... since we aren't going back anytime soon what are people's ranks. I know Hunk and Pidge are safe but if any of us gets captured we would need to know, the last thing we want is to send an alpha to save an omega if they went into heat" Allura nodded "I think that's a great idea lance. I'm a beta and Coran is a Sigma." Pidge was confused "What's a Sigma?" Allura sighed "Oh are they extinct on earth, Sigmas are similar to betas Coran was the last one anyway"
3rd person pov
Hunk rolled his eyes "Well as Lance knows me and Pidge are betas too" Shiro sighed slightly "I'm an alpha but Keith is unclassified... There are only two people that are like that in the garrison. Keith and Lance" Lance growled at him under his breath "I was trying to not that out!" Keith glared at Shiro "So what? It just means we don't have a label so we won't get denied for missions or anything. The only downside is we have to use both stuff. On a related note, how's your supply" Lance sighed "nearly out. I was gonna ask Coran if we have a sample and if there's a way to synthesize some." Keith was taken aback "That's actually smart lance?!" Lance rolled his eyes "What was your plan ration it? We have to use them. The garrison said to every day till there's a change. That was 2 and a half years ago, I got tested every month and at the last one, they said I could get away with once a month but still would be nice to have" Shiro smiled slightly "They had to have seen something to stop it that fast. What about your scent blocker?" Lance held his side "I can stop that entirely due to using it so much my scent glands stopped working" Allura tilted her head "Is that possible for humans?" Shiro sighed "Unfortunately. It can be dangerous cause the body can get painful rashes over the area." Lance looked away "C-ca-...can we not talk about that!" both him and Keith had a reaction to it but Shiro recognized it "That's... That was the alpha voice, Lance!" Lance looked down and Shiro sighed "That's why they had you two on both." Everyone else was confused "Basically they have bits of alpha and omega. It wasn't anything major to them but as Lance just demonstrated if they use the alpha voice they are also affected by it." Lance sighed "Then please stop. I don't know about Keith but it makes me uncomfortable." Keith nodded "I feel the same but you got your voice back first" Shiro nodded and they made the pack but due to Shiro making Lance use the voice Lance avoided talking to him
A week later Lance was in blue during a mission and Blue started going crazy but Lance managed to land after the fight "I don't feel right. the reason Blue was going crazy is my hands were shaking severely" Allura was worried "Is it to do with... your condition?" Lance gritted his teeth "I have no clue 'cause there were only two in human history and you're looking at them! Don't ask just get a pod ready I feel like there are ants all over me" Keith brought Blue back to the castle and saw Lance in agony "Lance? Before you go in think it's caused of the glands thing? that had to tell you to get off it for a reason" Lance sighed "Good idea Keith." Lance had to be sedated to get him to stay still to be put in the pod. By the time Lance opened his eyes a week had passed and Keith was there as he left the pod Keith caught him "Hey you ok?" Lance smiled slightly still out of it from the sedative "Yeah... I needed that... the sedative was unwelcome but it was needed. I felt like I was burning from the inside out" Keith brought Lance to his room "Just rest I'll ask Coran if they have any rank tests. you might have woken your rank" Lance smelled his fingers and sighed "Not likely. But I feel different. Like how you feel after sleeping after pulling all-nighters all week" Keith chucked slightly "Well we did knock you out, then put you in a sleeping pod and you were in there for a week" Lance sat down "A week! What the quiznack!" Keith sighed "Go to sleep. We are safe for now and I'll ask Coran about that test for ya... for both of us" Keith smelled the air "Sea air?" Lance covered his neck "I can't be..." Keith left the room and sighed "If he's an omega then me and Shiro are gonna have a problem"
A few hours later Coran came to Lance with a test and Lance was curled up in a ball and looked away when Coran came in "Go away. Keith already tried to give me the pep talk" Coran gave him the test "My boy as you and Keith are as alteans say it deltas and that could be dangerous. A prime example is what happened earlier" Lance growled at Coran "Leave me alone!" he has obviously been crying "Humans know from their childhood, since I woke up from the pod everything's different. You don't have to tell me" Coran sighed "My boy. I managed to synthesize the suppressants you wanted and already gave Keith and Shiro the scent blocker. They're next to the test. Just could you do it to put the question to rest" Lance sighed "Fine? And thanks. I think I'd need them" Coran smiled slightly "If you do turn out to be an omega it won't change anything... well some things" Lance looked at Coran "What do you mean Coran?" Coran sat on the bed "Do you want the kids' version or the full version?" Lance curled up "I'm not a kid! I deserve to know if it affects me" Coran sighed "I was hoping you wouldn't say that my boy. I don't know about humans but with alteans, there are changes to an omega's body when they get mated... mostly male omega but they... " Coran stopped for a minute and since he couldn't find the word in English so he said in altean and Lance went white "I could get boobs!" Coran sighed "Yeah... Wait you could understand that!!" Lance nodded "I wasn't supposed to?" Coran looked down "I said that in altean. How you were able to understand that is an indication that you are one"
