For the next few days, Allura was a nervous wreck and locked herself in her room. She was worried cause she saw how bad Lance was but it was impossible to miss the marks on his shallow cheeks.
Keith had left on a mission to track the quintessence that Krolia found. It took 2 weeks but Lance's pod opened and he fell out like a sack of potatoes onto Shiro "What! Lance wake up!" Lance was breathing but didn't react. Shiro sighed "Please don't hate me Lance" Shiro sighed "Wake up!" Lance flinched at the voice "W-what?" Shiro sighed "You fell out of the pod like a sack of potatoes and I thought the worst. I tried to wake you up normally but you didn't even react like you heard me" Lance sighed and tried to stand "Where's Keith? No offense alpha but I trust him more" Lance walked out of the room and found his room leaving Shiro mad and shocked "He spoke up to an alpha? Before whenever we used the voice he trembled and went weak at the knees" Shiro went to Allura "Princess... Lance is awake. He went to his room but he's different now." Allura opened the door "He's awake?! What do you mean different?" Shiro sighed "He spoke back to me after I had to use the voice" Allura sighed "He's been through a lot Shiro he probably had to build up a tolerance to it" Shiro sighed "I guess so but still. He just seems off" Allura sighed "Give him time Shiro"
It was a few days before Lance found out why Keith was nowhere around and went to red just to see if it would react like when Keith was in danger but its shield went down and it laid down "N-no bad kitty" Red spoke into his head "Blue had to choose Allura for the sake of all of the universe. I've seen you fight and you passed my test long before now." the voice was familiar but before Lance could say anything red spoke again "we use the voices of our first paladins. Alfor was the one who built us and the first to unlock my abilities. Cause of our bond his soul never really passed on. He is locked in my software as it is with the others. Black has the soul of the second one tho." Lance sighed "But that's impossible. Shiro is alive and well!" Red brought Lance to the spectral plain inside Voltron and he was normal again but he couldn't celebrate as he saw a familiar figure calling out to him "Lance?" Lance jumped slightly "S-Shiro? but what about..." Shiro sighed "I'm not dead. Just trapped here, Black knew I would be needed so she saved me from Zarcon" Lance looked down and fell to his knees holding his head as tears formed in his eyes. Shiro ran over but then suddenly a man in the red paladin armour appeared next to Lance "it's ok Lance! Calm down" Lance looked to Alfor and was at a loss for words "D-d-dad?!" Shiro was shocked as Alfor nodded "Wait, Dad! Allura had a brother" Alfor looked to Shiro "a baby brother. When Zarcon attacked I sent my wife with our 4-year-old son to safety but my queen was as stubborn as Allura and when she got our son safe she got out to fight in just enough time to see me one last time. I never knew what happened to my son till you all saved the red lion from the galra. Blue and I talked a lot about what Lance got up to and everything."
Shiro sighed "So were you the one that brought Lance here to see me?" Alfor nodded "I have been in your situation far longer than you. the others passed on when you all came but I stayed" Lance got to his feet and smiled "So save Shiro and find a way to bring your soul out of the lion so you can see Allura again, I'm glad you're here, the crystal..." Alfor smiled slightly "I know Lance. The energy corrupted it and you were right. The castle was technically haunted" Lance smiled "I'll tell Alla you said hi and about Shiro. Keith needs to know too but he's off on a mission at the moment" Shiro smiled "Lance asking as Keith's guardian is there something between you two" Lance went red and looked to Alfor who was giving the dad pose, Lance sighed "I wanted to tell him after the war but yeah. Tho your scent is suffocating he's is like oxygen sometimes... If he wouldn't mind an altean omega as his mate" Alfor rolled his eyes "Did Coran tell you?" Lance sighed "And the whole quiznacking pack!" Alfor smiled "Yeah he never had a filter be grateful he tried to speak in English" Lance giggled "and failed most of the time." Shiro was happy seeing all this but the question was knaring at I'm "Lance... Why were you surprised when you looked at your hands when you came here?" Lance tensed up but Alfor spoke, "Some stuff happened to him..." Lance sighed "You might not recognize me when we get you back and I swear we will get you back" Shiro sighed "I'm just glad you came back to us after the mission" Lances' hands started shaking as his fingers started bleeding "no.... no no no!" the claws started to show "Shiro can you please not talk about that." Shiro noticed and sighed "Hagar" Lance nodded "Honerva as someone else knew her" Alfor went as white as his hair then as red as his armour "SHE DID WHAT!!!" Lance curled up and his eyes went dull like he was being controlled and even Shiro felt the effect of the alpha voice "Did you see what really happened?" Alfor was fuming "Oh yeah. since we are stuck here together next time Black is active would you mind if I used it before I give you your body back? They cloned you so you have a body to go back to."
Shiro was concerned "If I let will I have one left?" Alfor nodded "Just want to use the link to mind fuck Honerva! No one messes with my son to that extent and gets away with it!" Shiro went over to Lance and waved his hand in front of his face. Lance inhaled sharply and rubbed his eyes "W-what else would I expect from my dad? Head Alpha of Altea. I must be such a disgrace" Lance wanted to leave the astral plane but couldn't "Lance you're not a disgrace." Lance sighed slightly "You put me in a trance just by yelling. Keith got me in a submissive state just by growling and when I had the voice I made myself mute for a while. I'm a weak omega and maybe I should hide from battle" Alfor left Lance leave and when Lance opened his eyes Allura, hunk, pidge, and Coran were over him concerned "Lance what happened?" Allura asked with teary eyes. Lance rubbed his eyes "Dad happened. His soul is in red and pulled me in for a chat. Shiro isn't Shiro. It's a clone made by Hagar and given how he reacted about this I think you and Lotor will not slide"
