For Yoon Seri, the last couple of days had passed in the blink of an eye, but they had also been an emotional roller coaster.
The first few days after the accident she had focused on her recovery. The doctors had recommended absolute bed rest, so as soon as she was released from the hospital, she and her family took a private flight back to Korea.
To her relief, F1 was taking a two-week break between the Japanese Grand Prix and the United States Grand Prix, so Jeong Hyeok had been by her side for some days.
They had been just best friends for so long, so she had imagined that the change in their relationship would be a bit strange for both at first, but surprisingly the transition had come so naturally, wasn't that fate?
Holding his hand for no particular reason, running her hand through his silky hair or caressing the smoothy skin of his face were things she had only imagined in her wildest dreams, but even they hadn't prepared her for all the things he made her feel: for the feeling of butterflies in her stomach every time he appeared at her door and stared at her, for the way her heart raced every time he touched her, or for the feeling that her entire body was going to explode every time he took her in his arms at night while he whispered sweet nothings in her ear.
Seri had received a visit from her family and friends at her apartment, who hadn't even flinched at the news about the new status of their relationship. It was as if in front of everyone's eyes, the two of them had been dating for years, as if their relationship was the most obvious and evident thing in the world.
On other hand, it was clear that her current health state meant that she would have to be out of racing for some time and given that the season was coming to an end, it was uncertain if she would be able to return before it ended. This situation worried her, since although Queens had a reserve driver, the team was left in a compromising situation.
All this was added to the anger that the accident had produced in her at first, which had quickly turned into concern and caution when she had realized what it implied. Surely, Jeong Hyeok and their families were in danger, so both had agreed to talk to them and finally report it to the authorities.
The documents and recordings that Jung Man Bok had given them had been irrefutable proof of Cho Cheol Gang's involvement in Mu Hyeok's death, who had been formally accused and taken prisoner in a collaboration between Korean, Japanese and Italian authorities.
Although the criminal process was just beginning, the situation had been complicated for the Ris, since it meant reopening a wound that they had been trying to heal for many years. However, they had all faced it with bravery and strength, because justice was the least Mu Hyeok deserved.
Due to the position of them and the Yoons, the case was having a lot of media exposure, causing a social outrage at the crime committed against one of the best sports representatives the entire country had ever had.
In addition, it had been discovered that there were other people involved in the matter, such as Manager Oh and workers from Formula 2 and the FIA who had hidden evidence of what happened, so everything was turning out to be more complicated than they had expected.
As if all that weren't enough, there was also the situation with her mother.
Han Jeong Yeon had not only openly expressed her wish for Seri to stop racing but had also taken it for granted that she would do so without question.
Although now that Seri understood the real reason why her mother had never supported her sports career they were getting along better, she couldn't deny that their relationship hung by a fragile thread and, frankly, she didn't want anything to ruin it, so going against her in such a serious matter would not be the best step to strengthen their ties.
