The winds breezed on my face as I ran through the field. I ran and ran to find the treasure, to look for what was most precious to me. It was like the love of my life was calling to me, and I needed to reach it.
My family needed to see it before nightfall, and so running through this windy autumn weather was all I was thinking I'd do.As I reached the end of the field, I saw our big red barn. Entering inside, I heard the clucking and pecking of our hens, and other sounds made from the livestock my mother owned. I walked to the end of the barn, and there I found it.
My grandmother's ashes were kept safely and soundly, in the last place my family expected to find them.I took the ashes and exited the barn, putting them in a pouch so they wouldn't get blown over from the wind. I carried them over to my mother's house, and placed them in a jar just like grandma wanted.
Me and my family gazed at the jar with respect and admiration for her; as we mourned the loss of yet another fallen relative. And I wept great tears knowing the person who was like a second mom to me, was now gone for the rest of my life.We will always miss you, grandma.
