~Modern AU smut in which Robin is at work when Nancy decides to sent her photos of herself nude, and Robin has to stay at work till the end of her shift and gets rewarded when she gets home to see Nancy~

Work is boring, Robin thinks to herself, as she sends another happy teenager off with an armful of books. When she and her best friend Steve started applying for jobs, they never would have even thought about a bookstore. Supermarkets, larger stores, and fast food maybe. Neither of them even actively read any books, but it's a place that Robin's girlfriend Nancy actively shops at and knew it was in need of new workers. It's a decent place to work too. It isn't fast paced, her and Steve get to work the same shifts, and they get paid enough too.

Normally work is even more boring than today, but today is more active than usual as it's a weekend and there are more teenagers and kids entering than normal. As well as that, for the past couple of minutes Robin's phone has been silently vibrating in her pocket with message alerts that she's desperately trying to ignore. She saw the first one, immediately put her phone in her pocket and hid her flushed face, hoping that she wouldn't receive anything else. She'd been wrong.

Waiting for a moment where it's quieter and the only customers are distracted by Steve at the counter, Robin ducks off behind one of the many bookshelves. Unlocking her phone and tapping on one of the notifications, she has to bite her lip to avoid the small gasp she goes to automatically let out. Nancy, who doesn't work on weekends, is back at their shared apartment, and apparently, in a certain... mood. Robin is greeted by the sight of 5 photos of Nancy, all of varying levels of naked-ness. The last one has her in no clothes at all, sitting on the living room sofa.

It takes everything in Robin's willpower not to just race home right now so she doesn't have to be teased by the photos, but she doesn't. Mostly because Steve would instantly see through any lies she comes up with and would not accept 'my girlfriend is sending me nudes and I need to go see her' as a reasonable excuse to leave work this early. Instead, Robin just sighs, trying not to look at the photos, and types a response.

Robin: Can you pleaseeeee not send me nudes rn. I'm at work.

Nancy: That excuse never stopped you when I was working on Thursday.

The response just makes Robin roll her eyes and smile to herself at the memory.

Robin: Can you blame me? I bought new underwear, what was I supposed to do? You loved them ;)

Nancy: I loved them when I got home to see you, not when you were distracting me at work. But I'll let you enjoy work in peace... one more thing though?

Robin: Mmmmm okay, one more. Any longer on my phone and Steve will get suspicious.

Looking back around the shelf, Robin breathes a sigh of relief that Steve is still occupied at the counter talking to a couple kids about what seems like the film version of a book a kid is holding. When her phone buzzes again, she looks down and her breath hitches in her throat when she realizes it's a voice message with a message following it that says 'I didn't specify that I'd send a photo. And hey... at least you only have... 4 hours left of work? Before you get to come home. See you later Rob ;)'.
