Chapter 19

Asher's POV
"When it comes to family...I have you and the girls. That's all I need."

She walked out and shut the door.

"Uhhh...did you hear all of that too?"

"Yeah."

I went back to looking at the file.

"She's right though. Only, she'll see the difference. We have to be careful. We can't trust him."

"I wasn't going to anyway. Anyway...I want to snitch found. Then, I have some questions."

Cal walked away. A few weeks later, the boy found us.

"Daddy?"

"There's a man at the door."

I walked over to the girls and crouched down.

"Go find mommy and hide."

Pixella grabbed Rosemary's hand and they started running.

"MOMMY!"

"MOMMY!"

I walked to the front door and opened it. I saw him.

"How'd you find us?"

"Uh...I can smell my own sister. Look, Alyx is the only family, I have."

"She actually made a good point a few weeks ago. If you knew she was alive, why didn't you look for her? Why didn't you Mindlink her?"

"Mindlink doesn't work for me. I died. That's how bonds work dude. I didn't try to find her because...I was scared."

Alyx came rushing out of the house. She punched Jett.

"You fuckin asshole!"

Oh boy.

Here we go.

"I've been miserable for a decade! For 10 years...I thought my ENTIRE family and pack were all dead! Now you magically show up and I'm supposed to be okay?!"

She pushed him.

"I NEEDED you! I needed my fuckin best friend! I lost mom! I lost dad! I lost Kayla! I lost EVERYONE on the same goddamn fuckin day!"

"Uhhh....are you gonna have her stand down or no?"

"Nope."

"I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!"

"ALYX SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR A SECOND!"

She opened her mouth.

"Alyx Rhodes..."

She growled.

"I'm the fuckin reason he fuckin found you! Who do you think fuckin told him about you?!"

"You're lying! You're fucking lying! Why didn't you come to get me then?!"

"I have no fuckin training! I don't know how to defend myself!"

"That's a shitty excuse."

"I'm not talking to you! I'm talking to my sister!"

Her eyes were red and purple. She was pissed and scared.

"I spent 9 years in some shitty place wanting to die!"

"Fine! Reject his ass and come with me!

Alyx's POV
Everything stopped moving. I started crying.

"I-I'd never! Ashy. I-I..."

"I know. I know. It's okay."

"T-that's never crossed my mind! I-I love you!"

"I know. Baby I know. I love you too."

"Alyx I-I didn't mean to..."

I started hyperventilating. Asher ran in front of me and cupped my face.

"Hey Alyx? Look at me. I know, you'll never think like that. Relax. Your eyes are purple. Relax. Do you know where the sedatives are?"

"I don't know!"

"Okay. Relax. They're in the medicine cabinet in our bathroom. They're in a box. You're gonna have to climb onto the sink."

"Huh?!"

"Fuck this. Come with me. Asshole, you should leave."

Asher scooped me up and brought me inside. He put me on our bed.

"Stay here."

He ran into the bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet. He opened the box then ran over to me with a syringe. I didn't fight him. I laid down.

"I'll send the girls in here to keep an eye on you."

"Y-you're gonna come back right?!"

"I will. I always do."

The girls ran into the room and Asher put them on the bed.

"Hi mommy!"

"Oh no! Why are you sad mommy?"

"The man outside upset her. I gave her a sedative. I'm going to deal with the man. Stay here and watch her. Alyx, it's gonna be okay."

He kissed my forehead then walked away. Pixella and Rosemary started hugging me. I broke down.

I'll never reject him!

I'll never do it!

I felt my eyes get heavy.

"C-can't sleep. He's out there."

"Mommy? Daddy, said you can sleep."

"H-he's out there alone."

"Daddy can handle it."

I sat up and everything was dizzy. I went to get up but, I fell.

Anne: Uhhh take it easy. Did you forget, you might be pregnant?

"Yes. I actually did."

I groaned.

"ASHER!"
