Contrary to popular belief, the 2-A dorms are actually quite peaceful at night. The rowdy class surprisingly loved their beauty sleep. Not a lot of students were up in the dorms at midnight. With the exception of Daigo, who's playing loud music to annoy his neighbor Ako, it's relatively quiet.
That quiet, however, is often frequently interrupted by the cries of terror that Shiraishi lets out every now and then.
The second floor woke up to her nightmares after the first night at the dorm. Shiraishi reassured them the next morning that everything was fine, she just did that in her sleep. She said she rarely wakes up from it. Some of the students found it strange, others were worried about her. Now that it was nearing September, most of the floor was sound asleep by the time she started.
However, one student in particular was just hoping she would stop shouting at the exact time she was hitting the slumber stage.
Akiyama Kamiko lied awake in her bed. She brushed her black hair out on the red-stained pillow as she mentally slammed her forehead into the wall next to her. She eyed the time, knocking the alarm clock over as she slowly got up. Holding the migraine forming in the back of her head, Kamiko sighed as she closed her eyes.
"That's it. It's been five nights in a row.." She mumbled as if someone could hear, getting up from her bed slowly. Her room was barely lit, a string of lights draped over her mirror was the only source. She could hear the screams through the wall as if it was in the same room as her. Kamiko went over to her dresser, got out a jacket to cover her arms, and headed over to Shiraishi's dorm room.
The second floor of 2-A's dorm was hero themed. Hisakawa thought it would be fun to implement something she found while visiting American dorms, so the doors all had their favorite heroes on them. Kamiko's was Edgeshot. Across from her was Genji, who had Thirteen as his favorite. His neighbor Kemuri had a lesser known hero called Rocklock. Shiraishi's door had a bunch of different heroes. When she decorated it, she said she didn't want to choose a favorite out of fear that they would find out and feel bad that she didn't like them.
That pretty much sums up Shiraishi's personality. Fearful of circumstance.
Akiyama's knock was met with silence. The other knock went the same. Eventually she just got fed up and went for the handle, finding her room wasn't locked. A slight panic rushed through Kamiko. Was there someone in the room? Whatever it was, she readied her left hand with her quirk as she opened the door with her right.
It just occurred to her that she had never seen Shiraishi's room before. In fact, she didn't believe anyone had. There was a big slide leading to the bed, followed by a desk that didn't look used and an open dresser that contained minimal clothing. The cherry-shaped rug on the floor was covered in papers. It looked like a storm had hit the room and felt like a sauna. Shiraishi was cold-blooded after all. Akiyama was regretting the hoodie.
There was a sudden rustling in the room, quiet but not enough. Kamiko closed her eyes, trying to get them to adjust to the dark as she held her hands in front of her. When she opened them again, the pile of what she thought was clothes on the bed was gone, replaced with the figure of a 10 ft tall snake wrapped into itself, a small cherry patterned blanket falling off her.
"Oh, Kamiko. Sssorry the place is a mess.." Shiraishi said, uncoiling a bit. Her tail reached for the lamp next to her bed, switching it on. The light gave her dark snake scales a rainbow hue. "Why are you here?" she asked, blinking her violet eyes.
"To ask why you keep screaming." Akiyama answered, her hands on her hips. "It's almost 2 am. Why are you shouting?" Her question was laced with an exasperated sigh. Shiraishi cowered a bit, her body moving absent-mindedly as she remembered what her dream was about.
