Pete's POV

*How did you find me?* I typed with fear at the back of my head.

*Oho... It's not that difficult finding the most memorable person in my life.* She replied but I could feel the sarcasm through the text.

Flashbacks of the unspeakable things she did to me appeared out of nowhere. The pain, suffering, humiliation arose from the pit I buried under for the past three years.

*What do you want?* I sent feeling my muscles tense up.

*I'd prefer to speak in person, Petey.* She replied.

*Yeah, we'll talk when pigs fly.* I sent then switched off my phone buried it in my pocket and went back to work.

I accompanied Kinn to get debt from a middle aged man that kept spending his money recklessly in the casino.

"Make him talk." Kinn ordered me and the other two bodyguards.

We walked towards the old man and I unknowingly took the lead.

Before the other bodyguards could throw a punch, I was already on top of the man throwing a number of heavy punches toward his face.

I don't know what came over me, it was just that Shakira's texts and just her existed pushed me to the point of almost killing the old man.

It got so bad that the other bodyguards and Kinn were trying to get me away from the man.

They put me on the floor, far away from the pulverised man.

Kinn crouched beside me while my body was flaring in resentment, anger, sadness and fear.

"Pete, get a grip." Kinn said while he shook my shoulder.

All Kinn saw through my eyes was emptiness but the kind where you weren't sure what the person would do next.

"Pete, don't do this. Get a grip." Kinn pleaded.

I got back to my senses and looked at my surroundings, the bodyguards where tapping the man making sure he wouldn't die, Kinn look very worried as he looked at me and brushed his hand through his hair.

I looked at my hands and saw the man's blood on it, and then I looked at Kinn again. I got up from the floor and dusted myself.

"Khun Kinn Kharb." I said as I handed him my hand. He took it and got up from the floor.

"I'm sorry Khun Kinn Kharb." I started. "I don't know what came over me." I finished and dropped my head.

"Mai pen rai" He responded and signaled us to leave as the others clean up the mess. *No worries*

--Few hours later--

--Main Mansion--

--Kinn's Office--

"Pete, what happened back there?" Kinn asked as he leaned his back on his chair.

"I'm sorry kharb I... I..." I tailed off looking for the words but they just couldn't form.

"Must be tiring taking care of both Thankun and I, right?" Kinn asked while tapping his finger on the table.

"Well..." I started but could not finish. I couldn't make eye contact with him so I kept my head lowered.

"It's okay, I would also go a bit out of control if I had to take care of the both of us." He stated while nodding in understanding and chuckled at the thought.

I wanted to tell him the truth but right now, I don't think I'm in the right mind to tell anybody anything about my past, not even Vegas knows about it.

I will tell Vegas when I'm ready.
I kept telling myself.

"No, it's not like that." I finally found my voice. "I enjoy taking care of both of you, it's just that... I had trouble sleeping the past few nights so..." I said hesitantly while fiddling with my fingers.

"I see, then you can leave a bit early today to rest." Kinn said.

"But Khun Kinn-" I started but was interrupted.

"It's an order." Kinn concluded and gestured with his hand towards the door to allow me to leave.

"Kharb." I said and left.

3rd Person POV

Pete left the mansion but did not go straight home. He took a taxi to a secluded place that was about 1 hour out of Bangkok.

Once he arrived he walked through the trees and flowers that were different tints and shades of green, turquoise and purple.

He had a lot on his mind so he did not care to notice nature's beauty surrounding him.

Once he saw a bench, he sat on it and took out a cigarette from his jacket pocket and lit it with a lighter found in the same pocket.

Usually Pete never smokes as he is concerned about what it may do to his health, but today was different.

His eyes looked empty yet looked like they had a story to tell.

As he inhaled the cigarette, you could feel the tension entering his body and being released with every exhale.

Pete felt like crying, venting out his anger, and hiding his fear but he could not do anything, all he could do was sit in the middle of nowhere, inhaling and exhaling his cigarette while his thoughts followed different trails.

He sighed from time to time as he leaned against a tree, feeling the breeze on his face.

He didn't like the feelings he was feeling or being alone here but he just needed sometime to gather his thoughts.

Just some time to gather his strength...

--Author's note--

Well... we got a sneak peak of the reason Pete never wanted to see Shakira again...

I feel like things are now tensing up...

What do you all think happened to Pete three years ago, and what do you think Vegas’s reaction will be once he hears about his past?

(Sorry for the late update, this week and I were on different time zones🤣)
