The Successors and The Rivals

By the year of 2270, two of the great-great-grandsons and three of the great-great-great-grandsons of Lord Patrick William Howard came to age and none of them had married.

Two of the great-great-great-grandsons of Lord Patrick William Howard became Dukes of their great-grandfather's Dukedoms and territories on Star Base 12 and they were Lord Richard William Carey and Lord Thomas William Howard, both were still unmarried, and two of the great-great-grandsons of Lord Patrick William Howard were married and have no children.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR the Patriarch of The Howard family looked at all of this sons and his first cousin, Lord Frederick William Howard III, his two first cousins twice removed, Lord Richard William Carey and Lord Thomas William Howard and his nephew, Lord Richard Edward Howard II and his grandnephew, Lord David William Beck and he told them" Why aren't any of you married?"

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR looks at his two older sons and asks "Why haven't any of you had any children?"

"Lord Charles Andrew Howard III. You were married in 2251 and it has been 19 years since you were married to Lady Victoria Charlotte Stanhope?"

"Lord Patrick William Howard II. You were married to Lady Paulina Charlene Stafford in 2258. You have been married for 12 years now and have no children?"

"I don't want to break a marriage contract with either, but I will to ensure that what your great-great-grandfather started in 2165 continues through his grandson, Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR." Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

"Lord Charles Andrew Howard III. I heard that Lord Jeremiah Collins has a daughter, Lady Millicent Collins who is younger than you are and she can give you children?"

"Lord Jeremiah has already promised Lady Josette to Lord John Seymour and I think he is holding on to Lady Isabella, but I know he will give you Lady Millicent." Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

"Lord Patrick William Howard II. You carry your great-great-grandfather's name? I heard that Lord George Grimson Craven has a daughter, Lady Elizabeth." Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR states.

"I am not like my damn father and I don't care if they are a Baron's daughter or from a good gentry family. It is about carrying on what your great-great grandfather started." Lord Charles Andrew JR tells his sons.

"Father. I won't abandon my wife, Lady Paulina Charlene just because we don't have children." Lord Patrick William II states.

Lady Patricia walks up " Don't tell my son to abandon his wife if he loves her. None of us are guaranteed children." Lady Patricia tells him.

"My dear son. If you love your wife I am happy." Lady Patricia tells her favorite son.

"At least your father made one happy marriage for one of his sons, as I know that Lord Charles Andrew Howard III isn't happy with Lady Victoria Charlotte Stanhope. I tried to prevent your father from making that ill-fated marriage." Lady Patricia explains.

"Lord Charles Andrew Howard III. This is the perfect time to get out of your ill fated marriage with Lady Victoria Charlotte Stanhope and at least meet with Lord Jeremiah and Lady Elizabeth and meet Lady Millicent." Lady Patricia states.

"What harm can it do?" Lady Patricia states.

"You don't want to be like your maternal grandfather?" Lady Patricia tells her son, " He was the most disagreeable man on Star Base 12 along with your paternal grandfather. I wonder why they didn't marry each other."

"Your uncle is glad that he died and he is Duke of Lennox Territory." Lord Patricia states.

"None of your paternal or maternal children loved their father, but feared them." Lady Patricia states.

"Lady Patricia looks at Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and she tells him " "I am sure that you can find a Stuart cousin to marry our oldest son too."

"What your great-great-grandfather had a younger brother, Lord Jerome Alexander Stuart on Star Base 10?" Lord Charles Andrew JR tells her.

"My grandfather told me that his great-granduncle was as disagreeable as my father and your father and he knew Lord Frederick William Howard, your grandfather." Lady Patricia states.

"My grandfather knew your grandfather as your father knew your father." Lady Patricia states.

Lady Patricia looks at her youngest son " Lord Andrew Charles Howard. You must marry sometime. You are nearly 20 years old." Lady Patricia tells her son.

"I can't tell Lord Richard Edward Howard II, Lord David William Beck, Lord Frederick William Howard III, Lord Thomas William Howard or Lord Richard William Carey to do as I am not their mother." Lady Patricia states.

"Gentlemen. There are several eligible young women out there on Star Base 12 and you must consider your great-great-great-grandfathers in the equalization." Lady Patricia tells them.

"Lord David Stuart knew Lord John Carey." Lady Patricia tells Lord Richard William Carey.

"His son knew Lord Philip Carey." Lady Patricia tells Lord Richard William Carey.

"Lord William Carey knew Lord Andrew Charles Howard, Duke of Northumberland Territory." Lady Patricia tells Lord Thomas William Howard.

"We have no control of who dies before us. It was a tragedy that Lord Philip and Lord Edward didn't inherit the Dukedom of Northumberland Territory, but I can assure you that God had a reason for allowing Lord Andrew Charles Howard to govern Northumberland Territory for so long, and I know it grieved it Lord George Frederick when he lost Lord Robert Frederick, but he found peace when he knew that you, Lord Richard William was going to inherit his Dukedom and Territory." Lady Patricia states.

"I don't know why Lord Frederick William II and Lord Richard Edward Howard SR were disinherited." Lady Patricia states.

"I don't understand why the Lord Edwin William Howard line was omitted from inheriting." Lady Patricia tells Lord David William.

"Mother. I haven't found my bride with any of these aristocratic daughters here on Star Base 12 and they don't care about anything." Lord Andrew Charles states.

"My son. There are plenty of young women on Star Base 12. Don't be like your grandfathers and great-grandfathers and be too picky and choosy." Lady Patricia tells her son.

"You still have time to marry for love and settle down." Lady Patricia tells her son.

"I know that your great-great-grandfather, Lord Edmund Beaufort wanted his daughter to marry for love as he did before he traveled with your great-great-grandfather, Lord Patrick William Howard." Lady Patricia tells her son.

"I know that your maternal great-grandfather wanted his daughter to marry for love, but I don't know if your great-grandfather loved Lady Jeanette Virginia Beaufort or your grandfather loved Lady Alexandra Elizabeth Spencer-Churchill." Lady Patricia explains.

A Rival starts between Lord Andrew Charles Howard and Lord Richard William Carey and they are the great-grandsons of Lord Frederick William through two of his children, Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR and Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard when in June of 2274 a young woman arrives on Star Base 12 from Post War Three Planet Earth.
