When I saw Hershel die, I immediately broke down. I couldn't deal with death. It felt like I was being hit by a train.

"No! No! No! No!" I gripped the fence and my body felt weak.

My legs went weak and shaky. Someone suddenly wrapped their arms around me and pulled me back.

"Get off me!" I panicked.

I tried to get out the arms, but the person turned me round. I couldn't exactly tell who it was at first because of my tears.

"Hey. Hey. Hey," He spoke calmly.

My eyes cleared up and I realised it was Daryl.

"Hey. It's me," He took my hand and put it to his heart.

Daryl knew I needed his pulse. I needed to feel something living to distract me from death. To make me feel okay before I have an even bigger break down.

"Hes- Hes," I stuttered.

"It's okay," Daryl pulled me into his arms properly as I cried.
